Stayed there for a family celebration. 5 of us booked three rooms, when we arrived we first of all had to wait five minutes because the owner was to busy talking to some other guests. Talking, not waiting them! Actually went to get him and even after that he still let us wait and didn't even apologise. When he finally turned his attention to us he told us that only one room was available the other two rooms are in a friend's hotel just a minute away (turned out to be an almost 10 minute drive!) So the first impression wasn't great. The only reason we didnt kick up a fuss was because the family members who booked the place are such big fans of it. To be honest nobody from my group could understand at all why. Room we got was ok. Clean and had all the basics needed. Bit dated with a clean barhroom with lets say the charm of a shower room at the schools gym. Unfortunately you can smell the frying oil from the kitchen underneath quite strongly. As for the family celebration. Staff was friendly and they always made sure we had a drink. Food was below average! Soup was terribly salty. Main was different meats on a platter, a vegetable platter and platter with fries and other potato based products. Sauce hollandaise served on the side was definitley from a package. Vegetables had zero taste, looked and tasted like out of a can/ the freezer. Schnitzel was not bad I have to say but the rest of the meats tasted like they died twice. That's how dry and overcooked they were. Potato based sides were ok but at best average Everything was lacking flavour and was too cold even though it was served onto hot platters to keep it warm. It was a lot, but would have preferred small portions at a better quality. Felt like thrown together rather than prepared with love and passion for the job. Dessert was ice cream with hot cherries. Can't do much wrong with that. It was yummy. Later they served a selection of cheeses which were ok too. Again way too much was served. What a waste of food. The function room itself was too small for our group, decoration was terrible and no clear colour concept to see. Colours were all over the place and it all seemed quite dated. Room was also too cold and there was a draft. Breakfast the next morning was good enough. Nothing special but probably the nicest food we had there during our short stay. Again, staff...

Read moreThis is a locally owned restaurant and accommodation. All the staff were friendly polite and easy to get on with. Nothing was too much trouble for them. |The twin studio apartment we stayed in was very spacious and clean.| Parking our van was easy in the spacious car park. |We never ate in the restaurant but I think we missed out there because it was always busy with local clientele who we were told frequently visited. The food we saw being served looked really nice. |There is a rear seating and lawned area that is quite large and provided a relaxed area to wind down. |I cannot fault the accommodation and the staff and...
