I stayed here for 2 weeks having wanted a place with a kitchen for such a long stay. We booked at short notice and reserved a Superior Studio. The location is very good but our first difficulty was getting into the hotel as the only way to do so is with a phone. I do not have international roaming so had no access to Wi Fi. Of course there is no one actually at the hotel to help you which we didn't really realise when we booked.|The surprises continued, both good and bad. Getting into your room is also a challenge for the same reason. We eventually were given access to a safe in a basement which allowed us to access some kind of master key. Once you can access the Wi Fi, the What's App communication is very responsive.|Once in , the room is attractive and immaculately clean. 5 starts for that! It was a summer afternoon and when we entered our room was stiflingly hot which was when we noticed no air con. The triple glazed windows could be opened fortunately, but as it was a busy road, the traffic noise was an issue and sleeping with the windows open was not possible. Then there was the blind. It was down but could not be opened as it was broken! We ended up every day rolling it up by hand and propping it up on an open casement window frame which was very difficult to reach. More than once it hit me on the head and one time made my mouth bleed. When you have paid 2 weeks in advance, moving hotels is not really an option.|We merrily filled up the dishwasher to discover it was broken. Unsure at first as there are no actual instructions for anything, I googled a manual myself. Eventually a person came to check and confirmed it was broken which was not repaired during our 2 week stay. The microwave is also a convection one which I am not familiar with. Again, no instructions but I could not google them this time as I could find no evidence of even a brand let alone a model. I never did figure that one out and stuck to microwave use only. I shopped for groceries, only to discover that the fridge froze all my vegetable and things like celery had to thrown out while some things could be salvaged for soup. The rubbish system was a mystery. I assumed we had to empty it ourselves but there was no sign of recycling bins and the industrial size bin outside the hotel was full and not emptied in the 2 weeks we were there. Occasionally I was able to vaguely communicate with a passing cleaner who was very nice. Cleaning is not something that happens but a paid service you book ahead and you are requested via the app, to have all surfaces cleared and not be home.|My husband was working at the university but I was on holiday and I would have loved a comfortable chair to sit in and read or knit. Rather I had to stay in bed as the small table and 2 hard chairs was not really ideal, particularly if my husband was working on it.|I loved the idea of the hotel, the environmentally friendly nature of it, the cleanliness and the ability to use the laundry for free whenever required with detergent supplied. I found the small partial ironing board impossible to really iron linen dresses on , particularly as it kept collapsing onto the kitchen bench, however it was just too small anyway.|A part time manager was employed one day a week, I believe ,and she helped us out at one stage and found a fan for us. She was indeed very nice but her role and powers were limited. The day before we left, someone came to remove all the blinds in the hotel. We hadn't complained about ours assuming they already knew. It turns out that ALL the blinds were broken and they were waiting to have them replaced all at once with curtains. What a bizarre situation.|We also helped other people who arrived and couldn't work out how to get into their room, so it wasn't just us. |We didn't use the tv while there as the option to use the chromecast didn't work for us. We didn't bother to mention this either as I don't know what the problem was but we don't speak german and there were no options available for English subtitles.|All in all, it was quite the experience and when back in Freising we will be staying elsewhere. Maybe if you stayed in winter it would be more enjoyable. Oh and the towels were...
Read moreThe remote staff, via WhatsApp or call, do their best to be truly helpful. So kudos to them. But I would never stay here again. It was a stressful, bad experience. First, during my short connection in Madrid, I checked my email to see if the room door code had been sent to me as promised. No code. Instead, a warning that my reservation was about to be cancelled due to non-payment. This was confusing, because they had had my credit card data on file from when I made the booking 2 months earlier. I was finally able to frantically get a call through using roaming (Madrid airport wifi would not connect) and explained that I was certain they had my card data but if they couldn't find it I would give it to them over the phone. But they said their policy would not allow that. However they said they would hold the reservation until I got to Munich. (Later they told me they had lost my original card data due to the company being recently sold.) Once I was able to connect to the Munich airport wifi I had to log in to their payment site then wait to see if the payment went though. After a few minutes it did and they sent the room code. But the stress and uncertainty didn't end there. The hotel is in Freising, not very close to the airport at all. And on a very busy main avenue in Freising with traffic noise. It's a real challenge to reach the hotel by bus or train/bus. Either rental car or taxi is recommended. Other than the big brewery restaurant there are no cafes, restaurants or markets in the immediate walkable vicinity. If there is a vending machine in the hotel I could not find it. On arriving, a 35ish professional business type was outside the main entry, frustrated, bewildered, and unable to use his main door code to enter. He was very stressed and said he had been standing there in the sun for a while unable to get in. He looked a little panicked. I used my front door code to get us both in. He then could not connect to the hotel wifi to get his room door code but I was able to show him how to do that. A third guest came in the same area. He and I then tried to enter our rooms with our room codes but repeated swipes/ attempts got no result. Finally, after more suspense, both room doors unlocked. It seems that if a guests cell phone were to lose battery power, or was lost, or just stops functioning for whatever reason, the guest would be in a really bad situation. This all-electronic- no staff hotel concept is profoundly flawed in my view. Far too many glitches can and do occur. Never ever again. But again, the remote staff via WhatsApp do their best. Its not...
Read moreThis accomodation was simple and clever and perfectly appointed . We decided to stay a night in freising as we were flying out of Munich the next day . The hotel is 20 min by taxi . Everything is managed via an ap to enter both the building and your apartment. We took a studio and is was spacious - a good size bed which was so comfortable. There is a well considered kitchenette with everything you wouid need . The bathroom is lovely with a big freestanding shower . Towels lush . And the thing I like best was how clean it all felt - so sparkly and fresh . It really felt like your own home . The only issue for us was no fresh air . We were on the first floor which meant we could not sleep with the windows open as it was on a busy road and any one could climb in . There is no air conditioning. I suggest if you want air , request a room|On the second floor . I was in contact with Bob via what’s ap and he replied quickly. There were heaters for winter so that was covered ||I would look at other Bob W venues in other towns for our...
