I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I entered my room, I was hit with a horrible smell of canalization. The shower was completely worn out, covered in rust, and the doors were broken and wouldn’t even close properly.
Cleanliness was a major issue. The room was not cleaned properly before my arrival, with greasy stains on door handles and light switches. Even worse, during my three-day stay, housekeeping never cleaned the room. Dust built up to the point where I had trouble breathing and couldn’t sleep properly.
The bed was terrible—old, worn out, and extremely uncomfortable. The bedding was just as bad, yellowed with age and clearly not well-maintained. Adding to the discomfort, they allow smoking in some rooms, which means the entire hotel has an unpleasant lingering smell.
To make matters worse, the hotel falsely advertises its amenities. They promote a gym and spa using stolen photos from a nearby facility that has no connection to them at all. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable.
The only positive aspect was the staff. They were genuinely kind and tried their best to offer solutions, but unfortunately, they had no real options to improve the situation. It’s clear that the owners don’t care about maintaining the hotel properly, and the staff can only do so much with what they have.
I would strongly advise against staying here. There are far better options for the price, and this hotel does not deserve the rating it advertises. Avoid...
Read moreWe have used this hotel on two occasions to break up a long cycle ride. It's probably best classed as a business style hotel - it's very clean , functional and does what you want for a short break but without some of the facilities of more expensive hotels.||All staff were friendly and check-in took less than a minute. We asked if we could use the hotel garage to store our bikes for the night and they were happy to oblige. What's even more impressive is that a message was left for the reception staff working the following morning reminding the that we would need the key to the garage!||Bedrooms are reasonably spacious with room for a desk, small table, two chairs. The bathroom was notable for the incredible water pressure in the shower and bath.||There is a small lounge area adjacent to the reception desk but we decided to sit outside in the courtyard of the attached Italian Restaurant. Not sure if this is owned by the hotel or run as a separate business but it serves excellent food at very reasonable prices.||Be warned, this restaurant is extremely popular - it you want to eat there, you would be advised to book in advance or be prepared for a long wait. On our first stay at the hotel we naively thought we could just wander in, sit down and eat - we eventually got a table after about an hour! We booked a table for our return trip before we...
Read moreArrived here early evening with a colleague to be greeted by the receptionist who only spoke German and who thrust registration forms in front of us. As we filled them in, she kept muttering "nicht schon, nicht schon". Now I speak 3 other languages (not German) but I knew enough that she wasn't approving of our efforts! As other regular travellers will know, the forms are a chore and are usually filled in as quickly as possible but this lady was having none of it! She went over both our forms and checked every letter and number we had put in, rewriting the ones she couldn't read. 10 minutes later we got our room keys. Other colleagues coming that evening had the same experience.||Room itself was very average, tending towards being tired but quiet and slept ok. Other quirks are that the bar is one of the 3 sides of the Reception counter and the lounge is 4 chairs opposite it in the hallway.||Breakfast was fine and the morning receptionist was much more friendly and spoke some English too. Not somewhere I'd stay...
