meinHotel GmbH — Hotel in Hamburg

I stayed at MeinHotel together with my wife between August 25-28, 2023. I am very disappointed with this accommodation. I have stayed in Berlin before (11 years ago - 4 out of 5), Nurnberg (Living Hotel 5 out of 5), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Hotel Gasthof zum Breiterle, 5 out of 5), Heidelberg (Hotel Central Hauptbahnhof 4 out of 5) and again Berlin 28 Aug. - 02 Sept. 2023 (Adapt Apart. 5 of 5). It is one of the worst accommodations from Germany. The location - it is quite close to the metro station (about 450 m), far from any source of supply for food, drinks. An aspect that is not specified at description of the hotel - it is located exactly in the direction of descent/approach of the planes for landing in Hamburg. The noise is very loud. It is somehow attenuated if the window is closed. The luck was that the time we were staying here was not too warm - it doesn't exist air conditioning. Reception staff - very confused. It took 2 people to manage to find the reservation we made. Clearly the price is too high for what is offered - if breakfast had been included it would have been closer to reality. If you are looking for an inexpensive overnight close to Hamburg airport look no further. MeinHotel gives you a good deal, no fuzz and efficient service and a good night sleep. You will be right under the flight path but I prefer the roar of plane engines to the constant drone of cars, so try to get a room that is facing to the back away from the road. The planes stop around 11:00pm so it is actually not too bad anyhow. Looking out the window over a meadow and trees the first thing I spotted was a deer peacefully grazing! The room was utilitarian but clean and the bed narrow but comfy. I walked to and from the hotel to the airport which was about 10 minutes. Perfect location for the airport, (walking/bus/taxi) I took taxi option 8.5 euros. Also for commuting to Hamburg Centre itself on U1. The staff speak excellent English and are very helpful answering a couple of questions I had via email prior to my stay. I was allowed to leave my bag before heading back to Hamburg as I arrived around 11am in the morning. Booked breakfast for the next morning which was excellent value for 9 Euros. A taxi was also booked for me on the morning of my departure. ||The room was very clean and had 2 single beds in it.
