Stayed at the Movenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport this past August for one night at the end of a two-week trip in Germany. I chose this property on the Accor website because it was right at the airport which was exactly what I needed for my early flight back to the U.S. therefore saving me the trouble of commuting from downtown Stuttgart (nice as that city is). As a bonus the hotel is located literally across the street from the main terminal - just a two-minute walk away. I arrived by subway from the main train station in Stuttgart which left me less than a block away from the hotel - the trip took about 40 minutes (it was the beginning of rush hour). Check-in was quick and efficient and my room was ready. However, my room was where the maintenance issues occurred. Starting with the bathroom, the wastebasket had not been emptied making it difficult to dispose if what I needed to - next the tissue box was empty and not replaced. Finally, the tile shower floor had several small tiles missing - at least from the back of the shower where I did not step |on. In addition, the desk and its chair were scuffed and a light bulb above the chair by the bed was missing - did not notice this until close to retiring and too late to do anything. ||Maybe I got a bad room or maybe housekeeping forgot to clean it but it is unfortunate because the room itself was of high quality and very comfortable. The chair by the bed was a wingback with ottoman which was just fine. The bed was equipped with a Sleep-Number type system to adjust the firmness thereof (did not use) - I thought the bed fine as is was. Four pillows were provided, two firm and two soft (prefer firm) which was nice. Also included was a coffee/tea making facility and a mini-fridge as well as a bathrobe and slippers (very comfy). The bathroom was huge with the toilet separated from the sink area and the shower with a sliding door and window looking onto the bedroom (perhaps for mobility=impaired). The TV had plenty of channels in German and English but surprisingly no music channels (strange!). My room had a view of the terminal building and the street in front of it. ||The hotel itself as mentioned is beautiful and very stylish. Upon entering you see the elevator stalls bathed in colored lights and several seating areas around it. Also on the ground level is the large fitness center (closed when i was there), the business center and the bar where I had an after dinner drink - bartender provided excellent and attentive service.||The check-in desk is on the second level as is the restaurant and more seating areas including a lovely living room area and a collection of cuckoo clocks just past the check-in (reception). The restaurant is beautifully furnished and quite large. Dinner was delicious and my server attended to my every need courteously and professionally. The dinner while not cheap was well worth the price. The dining room is also where breakfast is served, a huge buffet with all you would need - cold cuts, cooked meats, eggs, pastries, coffee, tea, juice. The breakfast is an option on the website - go for it. It's worth it and honestly the best and possibly the only place in the area to fuel up before your flight. ||So to sum up, I would consider this hotel again if I ever return to the Stuttgart area The service at check-in and the public areas is fantastic but I do hope the housekeeping issues are addressed. Hence my four star rating which would...

Read moreA last minute booking for 2 night stay @Movenpick Stuggart Airport as we arrived from Dusseldorf and planning to go to the factory outlet the next morning. We arrived late ar 1020pm and the reception young guy whom attended to us was polite while another much older staff ar the counter wasn't friendly and doesn't see or greet us when we arrived.but instead, he greeted a middle age Caucasian guest whom is behind us the counter. He sounds so friendly to the guest and seriously, it does make us feel that because we are Asian, so we are being ignored. When we asked the reception young man does the bus to Mertizgen factory outlet would be stopping by outside for boarding, he doesn't know. As far as we check, the bus from the factory outlet has different timings and goes to various hotels for pick up include Movenpick which we verify the next morning when we board the bus with another 2 guests in the hotel. I think your hotel gota update staff about this. When we finally got to our room exhausted as we had a 3hr train ride, we found that there were no toothbrush/toothpaste provided. We called up reception but all we got was, come down and take. Feeling tired but no chance , my husband went down to take the toothbrush set. But we found that the toothbrush/paste set had expired in 2021. (Pic taken abit blur, but if u see carefully, there is the manufactured date 2019 and expired 2021) From the website reviews, we chose Movenpick thou is on the higher price as we trust that the reviews Is true. However, after this experience, we are never gona pick Movenpick Hotel in whichever country...
