I can't say enough good things about this cozy hotel/B&B. I was in town to attend a funeral and selected a solo room. I had my dog with me due to lack of finding appropriate care on short notice. The hotel is very well cared for and clean. The management showed me me to my room and welcomed my dog. The room was small but didn't feel cramped. It was very clean. There was an electric kettle in in the room in case you wanted hot water. The breakfast was small but delicious with fresh made eggs and coffee. I think one of the best things about this hotel was to hospitality. While I was attending the funeral, my dog started barking. The owner called to ask if they could take her for a walk, to which I agreed. When I got back, they allowed me to have dinner with my dog in the dining room. I had the forelle fish dish. It was cooked very well. The owners were incredibly welcoming. The next morning during breakfast the owner talked about the history of the hotel. This review covers the restaurant, not the hotel. I spent an evening as guest of local friends in this excellent restaurant in the center of Mindelheim. The restaurant was very well frequented, all tables were taken. As a party of 5, we had a very spacious and nicely set table. The food offering was very good, starting with the amuse-bouche of spicy cauliflower puree with Chinese pork belly offered by the kitchen. I selected for appetizer the sashimi tatar with red beet apple chutney, wasabi-mayonnaise and soy creme and as a main course the "Rehnüsschen" deer venison in a spicy coating with sesame-spätzle, wirsing cabbage and elderberry balsam sauce. Mein Zimmer war hell, geräumig, sauber und praktisch ausgestattet. Bett / Matratze war ok. Badezimmer mit Fenster, Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist richtig gut! Mobiliar machte einen recht neuen Eindruck. 5 Sterne (Maßstab Altstadthaus in Altstadt).

Service: Sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent. Mehr geht nicht. 5 Sterne

Standort: Zentral in der Altstadt. Perfekt. Ich hatte Glück und konnte einen hoteleigenen Parkplatz nutzen. 5 Sterne

Restaurant: Hervorragender Zwiebelrostbraten! Geht sowohl mit Spätzle als auch mit Bratkartoffel. Viel besser als "hier" geht das Gericht nicht. Und überraschend: Die gegrillten Baby-Calamaretti gibt es auf Wunsch auch "mediterran" mit Brot, Tomaten und Zwiebeln (statt mit Salat) als Vorspeise, und der Küchenchef ist ein Gott! Perfekt gegrillt, Textur nicht zu verbessern, die nicht dominanten aber durchs Angrillen (in Öl) in ausreichender Menge vorhandenen Röstaromen sensationell, hier weiß der Küchengott, was er tut - besser habe ich das Gericht bisher auch nicht am Mittelmeer bekommen. Man munkelt, daß der Küchengott sizilianisch beeinflußt sei, und daher sehr gut wisse, was er tut! Nachtisch: Lassen Sie sich überraschen! Dazu eine Flasche Primitivo, und schön ist das Leben! 5 Sterne

Preis/Leistung: Sowohl für Hotel als auch für Restaurant 5 Sterne

Weniger schön: Die lärmige Müllabfuhr Donnerstag morgens um 6h30 - grauenhaft, ist wie "am Mittelmeer" im Stadtzentrum. Aber keine Bewertung, dafür kann niemand was außer der Mülleinsatzplanung.

Sehr schön: Frühstück - es ist alles vorhanden, die Inhaberin macht auf Wunsch Cappuccino und frisches Rührei. 5 Sterne

Zusammenfassend: Hervorragender Service, sehr nette Inhaberin mit Mann, überragendes Essen, sehr gute Hotelzimmer (Maßstab: Altstadthaus), gute Lage und delikates Frühstück, Preis/Leistung top - was will man mehr.
