The Good: The hotel offers a spacious room for two people with a large bathroom, clean bedding, and friendly reception staff. A convenient perk is the elevator that takes you directly to a supermarket, and the hotel provides luggage storage. Its location is also noteworthy: just 5 stops to the center via the S7 train (a 5-minute walk to the station) or 6 stops via the U-Bahn (a 15-minute walk).
The Not-So-Good: The biggest downside lies in transportation costs. A single ride costs €3.90, a daily ticket per person €9.20, and a group ticket for 2-5 people €17.80. For two people, the savings on a group ticket amount to only €0.20 per person. This means an extra €0.40 per day for transportation, significantly reducing the appeal of staying so far from the center, given the already high transport prices.
The surroundings are a mix of residential buildings, offices, and warehouses. The hotel entrance is often filled with construction workers (identified by their attire) smoking outside, as they also stay in the hotel. Non-smokers will have to navigate through a cloud of smoke—a less-than-pleasant experience.
Room and Bathroom Observations: While the room and bathroom are indeed spacious, the design and amenities leave much to be desired. Starting with the bathroom: • There’s no surface for a toiletry bag and just one hook for two people. • A large, empty space near the door could easily accommodate hooks or a shelf but remains unused. • The towel rack is awkwardly placed near the toilet, raising hygiene concerns. • The soap dispenser is mounted unusually high, making it inconvenient for shorter individuals or children, despite the hotel’s efforts to be inclusive with wheelchair-friendly door handles. • The floor in the bathroom showed signs of mold, which was off-putting and raised concerns about maintenance. • There is no separate button to turn on the ventilation in the toilet, which would be a helpful feature.
In the room, for two people, there was only one chair and a very small desk that was too high for the chair. A larger desk near the wardrobe would have been a better fit. Amenities like a kettle were absent, which could have significantly improved comfort.
Housekeeping Concerns: Housekeeping felt inconsistent. On the first day, only the trash was emptied, while on the second day, more effort was made, but the room still didn’t feel clean. Paper towels weren’t replaced, and the hotel seems to economize on toilet paper—providing budget brown paper instead of white.
Conclusion: While the spacious rooms and convenient access to public transport are positives, the additional daily transport costs, subpar design choices, inconsistent housekeeping, and lack of proper bathroom maintenance detract from the overall experience. With some small adjustments—like adding hooks, improving furniture arrangements, addressing cleanliness issues, and fixing bathroom flaws—the hotel could offer a much...
Read moreI stayed for two nights and the room was extremely comfortable. The housekeeping was very helpful. An Italian fellow named Alessandro who works reception was very nice and welcoming. As a foreigner, it was it was good to have someone such as Alessandro who could tell me more about the city and the German people in general. He provided me with good dinner recommendations and was very hospitable. The workers know decent English as well, so know problems with communication. I found the hotel to be a bit far from the center of the city. However, I enjoyed walking the park nearby and the city in general. One can always take the local S-Bahn in Mittersendling, which is very close to the hotel (maybe 3 minute walk). I will certainly be booking here again next time I find myself in Munich.
¡Important!: the room has a card slot which requires the hotel card to use the electricity. As an American, I have never seen that before and was confused upon my arrival. But as I stated, the housekeeping helped me...
Read moreQuite a bit further out than we expected. Wasn’t much to do in the area around and our room was opposite some flats so we could see directly into each others windows. Very close to train station (5 min walk) and had a supermarket on bottom floor (closed on Sundays though). Nice room but basic. Very thin walls, we could hear next doors conversations at night like they were in the same room but apart from that was very quiet. Big modern tv but it was all in German and no option for English subtitles which was frustrating but entertaining to guess what was going on! Only one lift for all rooms and floors which made things a little slow, however we didn’t run into a lot of other guests. Lovely modern room, bathroom and comfy beds, just a bit on the small side. Air con was confusing to use, it seemed to show the temp of the room rather than the temp it was set too so we were very confused when it kept...
