Hotel le Journal — Hotel in Sankt Wendel

We had the most wonderful 2 night stay here. The hotel was just a short walk to the town square (and their sister restaurant). It was very quiet and the ambiance was great! Our room was so unique! We had a trumpet lamp on the wall. I loved how they incorporated the old wood into the room. The bed was comfortable and our bathroom very modern. There was plenty of parking. The breakfast was delicious. They also offered cooked eggs and bacon to order in addition to the normal german buffet breakfast. They were able to accomodate my American tastes and make the bacon crispy and were not bothered by my special request. I truly appreciated that! I don't know which bakery the rolls came from, but they were so fresh and delicious. I can't write enough lovely thoughts about this place. I can't wait to...

A fabulous hotel with a great vibe. From the moment you drive up and see the bright, colourful outside, you get a sense that this will be a place with real personality- and indeed it does. ||The large rooms smell deliciously of fresh pine and are adorned with colourful pillows and pictures. ||The shower was excellent and the beds comfortable. ||Breakfast was excellent- lots of delicious food with a relaxed vibe. ||The only reason why it's not getting a five star rating is that we booked the circus wagon originally and were very excited about that. We stayed in the Hotel (separate from the Auberge) - when we tried to book, we found the Auberge was full, and only when we phoned did we find there was plenty of space in the Hotel (next door) Large and delightful hotel rooms, superb bathrooms, but the use of old pine, finish on the walls, tiling, vivid colours made it anything but boring. excellent huge comfy beds...even if you needed a taxi to get from one side to the other! Varied, tasty and interesting breakfast in Auberge next door. Very keenly priced, Easy to walk into the centre. Some parking.
