Review of Rheinhotel Schulz GmbH

My stay at Rheinhotel Schulz GmbH was a mix of positives and significant disappointments, leading to an overall unsatisfactory experience.

Renovations: The biggest issue during my stay was the ongoing renovation work, which I wasn’t informed about at all before my arrival. The noise started before 8 AM every day, making it impossible to sleep in or enjoy any peace and quiet in the morning. The lack of communication about these renovations was particularly frustrating.

Room Condition: The room itself, while clean, had several issues that detracted from the experience. It seemed only partially renovated, with the TV not working, the internet completely non-functional, and some electrical plugs unusable. Several light switches were ineffective or missing covers, giving the room an unfinished and poorly maintained feel. Additionally, the sight of a tree tied to the balcony fence with an internet cable was unprofessional and unappealing.

Dining: Although the breakfast food appeared fresh, both my partner and I experienced stomach issues after eating. This was extremely disappointing and concerning, as it made us wary of consuming anything else at the hotel. What should have been a positive aspect of our stay turned into a source of discomfort.

Staff and Service: The staff were generally polite, but their behavior was a bit strange at times. Given the number of issues we faced, I would have appreciated more proactive service or at least some acknowledgment of the problems, but this was lacking.

Value for Money: Considering the numerous problems, I found the hotel to be overpriced and overrated. While the room was clean, the disruptive renovations and food-related issues significantly overshadowed any positives. For the price, I expected a much higher standard of comfort and care.

Overall: Rheinhotel Schulz GmbH has potential, but my stay was marred by poor communication about renovations, unfinished room conditions, and issues with the food. Until these problems are fully resolved, I would not recommend...

Very nice and romantic Hotel at the banks of the River Rhine. It seems to have come out of a fairy tail. While sitting behind one of the huge windows of the dining room, you can watch riverboats or the little castles on the other side of the river. The Food was nice. Only the guys of the service were a little distracted and had to take orders several times, forgetting single items. Pre courses being served as main etc. The most critical point is that (we were a group of 6 in an otherwise EMPTY dining room) that the full 3 dish course lunch took us more than 90 minutes because of the timing of the dishes. There were no super exotic orders or so. A steak, two fish filets and some noodle dishes with salad. This doesn't bother me in an evening lunch with my family, but in a business meeting with me being the receiving part (it was a specialized education meeting and therefore expensive with a lot of useful and valuable information) whitch means that we lost a lot of time that was planned for the presentations by waiting for the next course. The waitress was vanished between courses and after finishing my drink in the first five minutes I was left there dry for the next 85 minutes. So, for a professional event in an otherwise empty and not so small hotel, this was an absolut unacceptable situation. Da ich dieses Jahr für die belgischen Osterferien erst in September gebucht hatte war kein einziges Hotel mit Rheinblick und Parkplatz noch verfügbar. Wir entschieden uns also für eine Ankunft am Ostermontag in dem einzigen verfügbaren Hotel dass unsere Kriterien entsprach. Parkplatz, Rheinblick, Fahrstuhl , Panorama-Restaurant und Verwöhnfrühstücksbüffet. Wir entschieden uns für eine Juniorsuite à 208 pro Nacht FS inklusive. |Zwei Wochen vor Anfahrt wurden wir benachrichtigt dass es kein Restaurant mehr gab und dass wir also irgendwo anders essen gehen sollten. Wir bekamen Empfehlungen, leider gab es an zwei Tagen nur die Möglichkeit in einem überteuerten spanischen oder italienischen Restaurant zu essen. Am Wochenende gab es eine Hochzeit mit beeindruckendem 5 Gänge-Menü, schade dass Hausgäste nicht mit der Kulinarik verwöhnt werden dürfen. ||Vielleicht war das ein Vorzeichen dass wir kostenlos stornieren sollten, taten wir aber nicht.|Bei Ankunft die nächste kalte Dusche Hotel war fast leer also kein Buffet wir sollten im voraus ankreuzen was wir wollten aus Ersparnisgründen. Es ist aber nicht deutlich wie groβ eine Portion Schinken, Käse ect ist. Auβerdem weiβ man am Vorabend nicht unbedingt wieviel Hunger man haben wird noch wann man aufwachen wird. Die nächsten Tage gab es dann doch das Büffet was nicht gerade umwerfend war eher langweilig: Käse , Wurst und Schinken Eier und Bacon, Obst aber jeden Tag dasselbe Sortiment, erst am Wochenende gab es dann Mettwurst und Croissants. Die ersten vier Tage also nichts an Süβigkeiten. Wir sind in viel bescheidener deutschen Hotels mehr gewöhnt. ||Das Zimmer ist riesig und luxuriös; Mehr Kleidungsverstauaum als zu Hause, Tolles Bad mit Wanne und Dusche, Couch, Sessel, Balkon und herrlichen Rheinblick. Kopfkissen wie immer zu weich aber wir haben sowieso das eigene Kissen dabei. Das Zimmer ist relativ ruhig obwohl man die Schiffe und die Bahn jenseits des Rheines hört. Es war mit 6 Grad Auβentemperatur nachts schon recht warm im Zimmer also im Sommer wäre eine Klima-Anlage für die erhobene Klasse und den Preis des Hotels eigentlich erforderlich und selbstverständlich. Achtung: bitte selber Shampoo und Duschegel mitbringen: es gibt nur ein kleines Fläschchen für das Zimmer( man soll es sich also teilen wobei es kaum für eine Person reicht) und es wird nicht nachgefüllt obwohl es schon am ersten Tag leer in den Mülleimer geworfen wurde.|Andererseits bekommt man jeden Tag eine gratis Flasche Wasser.|||Fazit: das Hotel ist in den gemeinsamen Räumen sehr luxuriös eingerichtet und beeindruckt, auch die Suiten sind sehr geschmacksvoll eingerichtet.
