The relatively new owners of this gorgeous bed and breakfast are already showing the professionalism and warmth of seasoned hosts. The building is a Victorian fantasy with a tower and high ceilings. Furnishings are beautiful antiques and fabrics are bright, colorful and richly detailed. The breakfast room is a big bright modern sunroom with large wooden beams. The entrance plantings are wonderful and the back seating area is planted with rich textures and full of seasonal interest. Next door is one of the best and oldest city parks in the world, comparable to the Paseo España in Malaga and a deeply carved canyon to explore. The hotel is a residential neighborhood. Things are kept immaculately clean by two cheerful cleaners. ||||· Near Shopping? Yes, lots of shops are just 2-3 minutes walking distance, but no groceries. They are on the other side of town on the L200, a 5 minute drive.||· Big Breakfast of locally sourced and homemade products. Coffee is brought to the table individually. No eggs but they have lots of tasty cheeses and the best Black Forest Ham and liverwurst anywhere, also Bircher muesli. What's unusual for this area of Europe is that they serve crispy muesli, black bread and occasionally Danish.||· Near many great Restaurants that are always busy, reservations helpful||· Desk Attendance was constant. It’s only two people and I don't know how they do it.||· View is always good. Half the rooms overlook a fantastic and quiet city park. The other half look at another park with a sandstone cliff. The front rooms have a view of many trees with patches of lake views.||· Parking is a snap, easy.||· Accessibility: Stairs to the entrance and only one room on the first floor. The rest of the rooms are up a stone spiral staircase inside the tower of the house. Very cool.||· Duvet or quilt!||· Windows Open||· Night-Time is dark but there are street lights at the front.||· Extra pillows galore||· Bed was Firm||· Area around Bed was lavish in the front rooms. The three front rooms have a fairly large winter garden, or glassed-in sitting room. The three north rooms have also a good sized balconies, but the south facing rooms have very small balconettes and half the space of the front rooms but still comfortable. ||· Lighting is great in all the rooms except for the Reine Victoria where the canopied four-poster bed compromises the crystal chandelier, LOL.||· No Tea tray but the hosts will cheerfully provide you with anything.||· TWO Coat Hooks!!! Amazing.||· No Bar, but a nice sitting room with large TV and the hosts act as bartenders.||· Bathrooms are lavish in the front rooms but I think smaller in the back.||· Shower in Tub||· Storage shelves very plentiful||· Toiletries just OK, the chamber maids didn't refill.||· Toilet paper strong and luxury||· Toilet comfort-...
Read moreMy mom and I recently stayed here for a few days and all of the positive reviews are true - the photos from the website are so accurate - but the place is much, much prettier in person - the staff Marc and Katherin and her mom are just the nicest kindest people - all have great English and a great love for service to their guests. They are super thoughtful and offer coffee all day (for a price - but I am not entirely sure they keep track of how many coffees they have brought you!) They are VERY helpful and welcoming. The rooms are amazing - so clean and pretty and the balcony we had was perfect, The breakfast is OUTSTANDING - everything - even warm items and special items like smoked salmon and 8 kinds of cheese for folks like me that do not want pie for some kind of pastry breakfast - if you cannot find something you like - you would have to be THE pickiest eater ever :)||When they say the hotel is close to the lake - believe it - literally across the hotel and across a little park area. So great for relaxing - the garden is right next door and is also so very lovely, We wanted for nothing and the hotel staff was so generous I cannot imagine what more we could have possibly asked for. We would definitely come here again to this lovely little town (Uberlingen is simply fantastic - although about every 5th story sells ice cream - clearly they love ice cream). The main town area is a few short blocks away - very easy to get there - and all of the people were so nice - so do not worry about not being in the center of town - also the lake boardwalk is across the street - There are no...
Read moreEverything very much was pleasant to me in hotel. Silence, cosiness, friendly and benevolent personnel. Snow-white towels in a bathroom. There is a separate wish to write about a breakfast which is served on a verandah and, in good weather, it is possible to have breakfast in a garden. During a breakfast everything is very refined and tasty. It is visible that people do everything with love. The lake and the Term - all nearby. In hotel you will be given a towel and a dressing gown for visit the Term. If you need fresh air and rest - reserve this hotel. ||The only thing, I had a single 16, it is directly opposite a reception and windows leave to an entrance door therefore number all is visible from the street (it was necessary to close blinds, and was very much hot, the conditioner isn't present and they didn't take care of the fan for guests) and the headboard of a bed is directly at a door in number. From - for it I couldn't get enough sleep. The bed creaks and the mattress should be changed already. ||But, if you arrive not to such heat and in other number, I am sure, everything will be...
