Booked their 7 night Black Forest package which included 7 nights half board and 3 day black forrest card. On arrival we were told that the cook had left so they were unable to provide us with a hot evening meal each night. To recompense they said we could eat at a local restaurant and the hotel would pay for all the meals. One of their staff walked us to the restaurant where we ate extreemly well with fresh, well cooked food each night. On the day the restaurant closed we used another one which was not a patch on the 1st one. Stayed an extra night on a B&B basis & still ate at the original restaurant as it was so good.||All the hotel staff were welcoming and friendly & coped very well with an international clientele. The breakfast buffet was very well stocked with plenty of choice.||The room was a good size with a good choice of TV channels and a reasonably priced mini bar. The location was in a quiet street within a 5 min walk of the town centre & a 10 min walk to the train station & Kur gardens. There is plenty of parking both at the front & rear of the hotel with the 2 buildings connected by a pretty garden. I would recomend this hotel to anyone staying in the area & hope to return with my parents in a...
Read moreWe stayed at the Atrium for one night on our way through Germany. Our double room was large and comfy with a small balcony and a good size bathroom (shower, no tub). Decor was modern and tasteful and everything was in good condition and impeccably clean. Wifi was free and fast and there was a flat-screen TV. 4-star standard. The service was friendly and personal, a bit quirky maybe but we liked the gentleman running the place. The hotel seems to be run with minimal staff, so be ready to wait here and there. When we arrived, there was no one manning the reception and we had to wait for five minutes or so for someone to appear. When we got to the room, the baby cot that we had booked had not been set up. This was rectified immediately and in a very friendly manner. Breakfast was fine, not great. Would be a great idea for the hotel to invest in an espresso machine and -like in so many places - the "orange juice" was terrible, more like kool aid. But the rest was completeley fine, good bread selection and the typical German breakfast spread (cold cuts, cereals, cakes, fruits, all fresh). Overall, the place did not disappoint and I would definitely consider staying there again when...
Read moreWe had a truly pleasant stay - arriving in the eve, we were met personally and welcomed warm-heartedly to this pleasant rural hotel. The room was spacious with a separate toilet and a clean well proportioned shower. Our room had a little well kept balcony and a lovely sitting area. Owls seem to play a special role in the hotels decor and quirky references can be found all around. Although the decor may not be the hight of current fashion, the heartfelt attention to detail is charming! We had a wonderful breakfast ( buffet) with fresh homemade cake and a lovely selection of spreads as well as coffee and orange juice. As it was a very sunny morning, the hotel readily served breakfast outside on their pleasant terrace surrounded by beautiful plants - we felt very welcome and will gladly come...
