I’ve had multiple bad experiences but my last experience was my most traumatic which has permanently affected me.
The first time I went the service was bad, I didn’t even get the chance to order their cocktails and try out their menu. I gave them grace and decided it was early days and they were very busy and the place was pretty so I’d give them another chance.
Second time the order was taking so long I knew they hadn’t processed it. Had we not been at a table that already had some drinks i would’ve left again angry, after an hour I went were I knew I’d get good service.
Third time I had been looking forward to going out and having fun after a stressful busy first half of the year. I came for their dancehall night ready to splurge. I figured this time it wasn’t that busy as it was a Thursday so it would be a good experience… We were starving and wanted to get some food before we got a bottle or two. The server neglected us, never took our food order, everything was a confusing struggle. We got a single cocktail from a dj and even that took a lot of back and forth of him walking from the table to the bar to the server to the bar just to get it. That took an hour… a server took our food order finally but it never came.
So while being hungry and angry trying to figure out what was going on that’s when a drunk friend of the owner called Dramani started throwing thick glass bottles of Martell at the pool. Since our table was by the pool the bottles came flying at me, one of those bottles hit my right thigh leaving a permanent mark on my leg. My leg hurt for months. Security refused to do anything about it saying he was friends of the owner and he’s sorry and didn’t even go to him or take any of it seriously. The management didn’t take any of it seriously either. The female manager decided to administer “first aid” wanting to rub alcohol and gentian violet on my thigh. Her first aid knowledge was non existent. The male manager was equally incompetent but he at least seemed to speak to the group of people with Dramani who were ready to go anyways so they said.
I told the manager everything that had gone wrong even prior to being physically hurt, she then begged and insisted I wait because I was leaving at that point saying they would sort it out. We got burnt fish samosas sent to us that were somehow still cold in the middle and I was sent one cocktail. I told her this was not remotely going to fix anything. She took my number and said she would check on me the next day and she of course never did. I contacted the establishments main line to speak to the owner and no one contacted me back.
Since that incident I’ve been extremely uncomfortable going out in any club like setting. I have anxiety and no longer enjoy it. My mind stays on high alert ruining my time. I used to love going out to dance but I skipped all of the holiday festivities. The only time I purposely went out was when I planned my own event at a location I felt safe in with competent security and staff, even then I didn’t stay out as late or freely enjoy myself as I normally would’ve due to the after effects of getting bottled at Alora and competent mistreated. I gave them several months to rectify things and they never did.
Feel free to go there but just know that they don’t care about your well-being and only give adequate service to select people, even so the regulars who promote the place were aware about the terrible service but claim there’s new management. If anything happens you will be...
Read moreI recently visited Alora Beach Resort in Ghana, after hearing about it on TikTok and being enticed by the hype surrounding it. While the resort had its positive aspects, overall, my experience was quite disappointing.
To begin with, finding the resort was a hassle. The location provided on Bolt led us to a dangerous area, which was a major inconvenience. I strongly urge the management to address this issue promptly to avoid any potential dangers for future visitors.
Upon arrival, we were surprised to learn that there was an entrance fee of 20 Cedis per person. While I understand that different countries may have their own customs, it was still somewhat frustrating to have an additional charge on top of everything else. Nevertheless, we proceeded with high hopes due to the resort's appealing aesthetic and ambiance.
However, our disappointment grew when we examined the menu. There was a lack of variety and options to choose from. We were hoping to have the freedom to select our own starters, but to our dismay, the waitress informed us that we could only opt for the set platter. Moreover, the absence of rice dishes on the menu left us dissatisfied. The online menu had showcased a more diverse and enticing selection, leading us to expect more than what was actually available.
Despite the pleasing atmosphere, the resort failed to offer anything exceptional beyond its picturesque setting. As a result, my companions and I decided to leave after only an hour and a half. It was disheartening to realize that our experience fell short of our initial expectations.
In conclusion, while Alora Beach Resort may have gained popularity on TikTok and initially appeared promising, my visit left much to be desired. The difficulty in finding the resort, limited menu options, and lack of standout features made it clear that this establishment does not live up to its online reputation. I regret to say that I will not be returning to Alora Beach Resort...
Read moreI booked this place based on the online pictures and hype on social media. That was my first mistake, not only was I throughly disappointed by the appearance of the accommodation but also by the management. I had booked this place a week ahead of time, checked in an hour after check in time. Yet the room smelled of being recently cleaned to mask a foul odor from the bathroom. Which had polluted the entire room. The windows were see through and everyone could see you just by raising their head. So if you were to undress you’d be on display. The toilet was filthy and because it’s a black toilet it’s even more evident. So we requested it to be cleaned again, but then suddenly the AC started to leak heavily almost like rainfall. Considering the experience has already been ruined, we insisted on a refund. Which I was told would be credit in 5-7 business days. This was Wednesday of last week and today is Thursday. I didn’t receive any refund or communication from management regarding a refund. I had to call them several times and each time I was assured to get a call back and I never did. I do not live in Ghana, I paid in dollars and today after calling multiple times they admit that they forgot. And they want to send my money through mobile money. After I was told I would receive it back on my card in even less than 5 business days. They didn’t respect me or my patronage enough to do so. I have pictures of everything and I will be making another review on TikTok. If I were you I wouldn’t even think about booking or wasting your money here. The rooms look like they were built asap and didn’t pay attention to any detail. Only wanted quick money. I am utterly disappointed and I will make sure to de influence anyone I know from going here. When it’s time to take your money they’re quick but when it’s time refund for terrible service, they’re no where...
