That was my second visit at Oliaros in Agios Georgios and although not a newcomer I was still impressed by the tranquility of the place and the amazing view. At the edge of Agios Georgios village, away from the hustle and bustle, the resort offers an amazing view of Despotiko island and is only few steps away from the sandy beach. Well manicured gardens and a wonderful breakfast area complement the tastefully decorated specious bedrooms (with Cocomat mattresses!!) each with a veranda to enjoy a drink of local "tsikoudia" offered by the owner as a welcome gift.||||At the time of our visit, a group of italian tourists were doing yoga early in the morning. Wi-fi had a good reception and breakfast with home made jams and cakes was superb.||||Multi lingual Vassilis, the owner, and his partner, Zafeiria, make you feel welcome and immediately at home. They will provide you with every bit of information one needs about the island.||||Don't miss this place if you plan to visit Agios Georgios and Antiparos. It is for many a well kept secret but between experienced travellers secrets have...
Read moreA beautiful corner of a beautiful island. You have a beach five minutes from the hotel - it's little but has spectacular views of Despotiko island and it was nice to just wander down there from the hotel. There is only one other hotel locally so it's not too discovered - there are three local restaurants about 10 minutes walk away. The rooms have character and are comfortable and clean - the only gripe is that the light in the bathroom was dim. The garden is spacious and trees screen you from the cafe but are cut so that you see above them to the sea. The verandas are spacious. There is a large yoga platform to practice on. The breakfasts were unbeatable - there were lots of different elements - Zafira bakes cakes, cookies, savoury treats - it was impossible not to try them all. The owners are funny, charming and very hospitable. They are also talented musicians - on one special night we watched the stars while listening to them play the flute and piano. We wish we could have stayed longer. This is not a party place it's perfect to get away from it...
Read moreThe two musicians, Vasilis and Safiria, who run Oliaros, gave us the best possible service and made us feel so welcome and at home from the first evening. We arrived late at night, and the stunning view of a starlit sky and the incredible peace and quiet is just one of the wonderful memories we brought home from this place.||||Homemade breakfast served outdoors to classical music and quiet conversation was the lovely start to each day. Close to great beaches and a couple of tavernas, and possibilities for trips around Despotiko island with a local boat with Captain Sargos at the helm, beautiful landscape, and stunning views - Agios Georgios on Antiparos is a wonderful, peaceful, inspiring, beautiful place, and Oliaros an incredible, authentic Greek guesthouse with only eight studios/apartments. ||||No swimming pool, luckily, because that would really detract from the atmosphere of the place - and who needs a pool when the wonderful sea is a few meters away? The standard is great, the service fantastic and we look forward to...
