A Soul Sanctuary by the Sea I thought I found Kameo online, but in truth, I think Kameo found me. I was searching for a peaceful landing spot to decompress after international travel, recover from jet lag, and outline a writing project. What I discovered was a soul-nourishing sanctuary that quickly became my home away from home. Even before I arrived, I felt the warmth of Ornit, the owner, whose personal touches and generous hospitality are the heartbeat of this boutique hotel. She called me from Greece to help with my booking when she noticed I had mistakenly selected a room without a view. Her gentle guidance ensured I arrived to a room where I could gaze out at the sea, just as I had imagined. That level of care is rare. The design of Kameo is breathtaking. Every detail seamlessly integrates the surrounding sea, sky, stone, and sun, evoking harmony and stillness. The furnishings are a perfect palette of sand, white, and soft neutrals that echo the beach just outside the back gate. There is an honor bar stocked with sparkling water, wine, and ice cream bars, yes, ice cream bars, including a pistachio one that is my favorite. I even found smooth skipping stones there, perfect for writing a word like “gratitude,” which I left for the staff in Greek and English. My room was thoughtfully appointed with luxurious linens, a great screen door to let the sea breeze in at night, and air conditioning for hot afternoons. The mini bar included gourmet snacks (black pepper truffle potato chips!), complimentary Nespresso coffee, and bottled water. I was also gifted a beach bag, a toiletry bag, and a Kameo t-shirt, Ornit thinks of everything. Meals here are an experience. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with a glass of Greek sparkling wine and a smile. Chef Niko’s food is both comforting and elevated, from his Greek scrambled eggs with feta and zucchini ribbons to the fresh fish, Greek salads, and slow-braised short ribs paired with beautiful Greek wines. One night I experienced a wine tasting that ended with a sublime Greek dessert wine called Omega Late Harvest. It was magic. The pool and reception area are tranquil and inviting, and I often found myself sipping wine or journaling by the water. Breakfast and lunch are from a small but diverse menu, I couldn’t get past the watermelon mint salad with feta and balsamic glaze, which I ordered twice and still wanted more. As someone who has owned a luxury inn in Vermont and currently manages over 200 vacation rentals in California, I understand what it takes to create an experience like this. It’s not just about the beautiful setting or the amenities; it’s the intention, care, and orchestration that take place behind the scenes. Ornit, Niko, and the staff provide a level of service that is heartfelt and exceptional. One piece of advice: coordinate your travel with Ornit. Trust her guidance on how to get to Antiparos from Athens, she knows all the shortcuts, and it will save you time and effort. Next time, I’ll follow her advice without hesitation. I initially stayed two nights before a writer’s retreat and returned for a final night because I missed Kameo and Ornit so much. Saying goodbye felt like leaving a beloved friend. Kameo is more than a hotel. It’s a rare and unforgettable experience, created with love, grace, and vision. I’ll be back, and next time, I’m bringing my husband.

Best kept secret in the Cyclades! Beautiful boutique hotel with gorgeous new pool and bar on perhaps our favorite island! Kameo was a joy. Our room was spacious, overlooking the Aegean and Despokito (we could see the ancient ruins from our Bougainvillea draped terrace.) Go for the views but stay for the service. Ornit, the most dynamic proprietress, will arrange days on the beach, or a boat ride to Despokito complete with a picnic lunch and cold beer. It was a memory for a lifetime. Make sure to do whatever she suggests- Ornit will craft your perfect itinerary! Nicholas and his handsome co- chef (whose name escapes me please forgive me) make the perfect poached eggs- if you are lucky he might share his secret.) Reserve your rooms now. When word gets out, it will be the hardest reservation to get on the islands! Oh, and make sure to dine at Kameo at least once for dinner… the traditional Greek cuisine we requested was off the hook good! And the breakfasts are divine. Take me back!

What can be more inviting and welcoming than a nice, comfortable and cozy hotel, neatly tucked on the warm and breezy island seashore? We enjoyed discovering the lovely Kameo hotel, which can be best described as the perfect hideaway in the Greek islands. Ornit, the big hearted and your instantly best friend host, designed, and created a place to relax, let go, and fully immerse in the quite bliss of a Greek holiday. Located on the Anti Paros island (a short ferry trip from the larger Paros), this hotel offers a combination of a quite luxury, amazing hospitality and an instant feeling of being at ease and at home. Whether having a a relaxed breakfast in the shade, or taking the time on the inviting beach just outside the hotel, strolling the small streets of the village nearby, or lying on the sandy beach under the full moon, you can relax, unwind and enjoy the weather, location, food and most importantly, the open hearted and warm atmosphere of unimposing hospitality.

Kameo Anti Paros

I usually don't write a review. But this is one of those moments when I really want to say something about this “hotel”

This is where it all starts, calling Kameo a hotel is already a mistake for me.

Of course, Kameo is a hotel where the stars do not so much determine the quality but rather which facilities are available or not. This is excellently taken care of at Kameo! The rooms are spacious, the beds are great, the air conditioning works perfectly and the showers are of non-Greek quality. (Large head, firm adjustable jet and really adjustable from hot to cold. Towels, bath and beach towels, and of course all the other things you expect at such a hotel. The beautiful new swimming pool with really lovely water (no chlorine!), the cozy bar and seating areas with or without shade. Everything is there.

But Kameo is more.

Being asked: what would you like to have for breakfast today? If you would like to have dinner here tomorrow, what would you like to eat? Nothing is too much. Here the customer is completely pampered without exaggerating, just unburdening and enjoying, that's what they do. Close to the beach: bring your own beach chair with parasol. A packed lunch? No problem. Or go to the beach at night with your chair, a nice bottle of wine with glasses and wine cooler and don't forget a stargazer. Hundreds of stars around you and only the sound of the waves.

Kameo is more…..

The peace that comes over you. The spirituality of the environment and the location of the hotel. The employees and owner who, if you want, during your stay, let you be part of a kind of family.

If you want to describe Kameo it is more like:

Feeling, Nature and unexpected Spirituality

It is a dream to be a guest there for a few days.

Our stay at Kameo was truly amazing. We were there for our birthday week and Ornit gave us the most beautiful room with a stunning sea view. The room was spacious, calming and relaxing with all the amenities you could ever need. We really appreciated the hotel having beach towels and beach umbrellas and chairs we could borrow to explore the beaches nearby. The food was delicious thanks to chef Michail. We enjoyed two glorious chef's dinners - the best food we had on the island. Nikos at the bar made us feel welcome and at home and made the best gin and tonic. The hotel is a few steps away from the most beautiful beaches and we could have not wished for a better location. Antiparos is a magical place to explore.

The best thing about Kameo is the experience Ornit created. She not only created a beautiful hotel where guests can relax, but also ensures everyone feels welcome and at home and goes out of her way to make sure the guests' stay is memorable. We enjoyed getting to know her and truly appreciating the spirit of Kameo. We can't stop talking about our trip and cannot recommend Kameo enough!

If you have a chance, we highly recommend the day trip to Despotiko and make sure to order a beach lunch with the hotel. It...
