We stayed at the Olympos Hotel for one night in June. The hotel is really central so the roads around it are very busy especially at peak times so avoid arriving at lunch time if possible. There is parking outside the hotel, but it might be worth phoning ahead just before you arrive to ask for a space to be held for you as we had to drive around several times before we managed to find a free space as the traffic isn’t very forgiving of people who are dithering! The hotel is a bit dated but clean. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean with plenty of towels, a nice strong shower, plenty of hot water and a few complementary toiletries. There is also air-conditioning/heating in the room, a TV and a fridge. The staff provided us with a breakfast of bread, toast, butter, jams, fruit, cheese, toasties, tea/coffee and were happy to accommodate any special requests we had, so if you have any special dietary requirements for breakfast be sure to let them know beforehand (The owner actually went out especially to buy extra fruit for us). The hotel is very central so exploring the town by foot from here is easy and convenient. There are also plenty of cafes and places to eat around the hotel. We didn’t have any problems with noise, but we were on a high floor and not on the side of the building facing the street so that might be something worth asking for if you are a light sleeper. My only criticism would be that the decor is too busy which causes the whole hotel to feel a bit dark, but this could be easily remedied by simplifying the decor and reducing the pattern and decoration. Overall a basic, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel with extremely friendly and...
Read moreWe've been here to rest for a night, during a long driving trip but failed.||I asked for a quiet room and got a room toward main boulevard. Lots of motorcycles and cars "screamed" during the night.||It was too hot in the room and I couldn't use the AC because a baby was sleeping there. I had to drink a lot o water but this came with many trips to the bathroom. Fair, yes? But hold on the door creaked every time so my wife could't sleep and we were afraid we could wake up the baby. I could let it open right? NO, because a cigar smoke and a pooh smell filled the bathroom despite the reinforcement I got from reception the there is no smoking in the hotel.(yeah, except the old lady we say smoking in the lobby).||We mentioned that we have a 2 year old child. They gave us a triple room with a bed. Well, they don't know they can fall from the bed I suppose. The beds were drilled to the wall so we could't move them to make a safe place for the baby. Thus instead of sleeping, again we had an extra duty. Watch the child not to fall off the bed.||So all in all, it was a terrible experience.||Ah, yes, it has some nice features though: Old style furniture, new AC, new heater. The rest is old, really...
Read moreWe stayed at Olympos Hotel for one night in August 2014 and were more than satisfied. First of all, the price was excellent. We booked a triple room which was really spacious and comfortable. Although the hotel is rather old, it is being renovated and very well taken care of. It is in the city centre, the old market is just a 3 minutes walk away, restaurants and caffes are right at your feet and there is room to park your car right outside the hotel. ||We were amazed by the absolute lack of noise from the street, although the hotel is situated on the main city road. The new windows are really soundproof!||All in all, we were very pleased with our stay, we highly recommend the hotel to everyone and will definitely stay there the next time we...
