I just had the worst possible experience booking this hotel. After a long back and forth by email to understand availability where they answered “no we don’t have availability for 5 ppl to the 28” to my question “do you have availability for 2ppl till the 17” we finally confirm our room and receive their confirmation email. After one hour during which we booked ferries and hotels on other islands according to the availability of this one, we got a cancellation email. We called them to understand the mistake and we discover that they did not remove the room from the website and someone else booked it online. We ended up without a room, with a three other bookings on other islands to change and with not even an apology. Worst possible experience in greece in 40 years that I go there. We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at EmGard Suites Kythnos as we explored this beautiful island. The location is excellent- the primary roads of the island come into the port town of Merichas so it's easy to drive to beaches and villages. When we preferred to stay close for dinner, Merichas has many wonderful tavernas along the water to choose from. Yiannis and his staff at EmGard are top of the line. He engaged with all the guests every morning at breakfast, assisting us with advise and support for anything we needed. Housekeeping was exceptional. Our suite was perfect for the two of us-a very comfortable bed and sitting area, updated and nicely furnished bathroom, a kitchenette with all dishes, silverware, etc, and LOTS of storage.
