The location is perfect, we had a table literally by the sea. However, the food was so bad - before sitting down we checked google reviews and saw the high ratings and therefore sat down, I really can't explain how come it is so high rated, but I am imagining it is tourists who are very experienced with good quality Greek food. I will never forget the prawn pasta we got, so overcooked spaghetti and it was just sooooo bad - also I think it was pricey along the lines of 20 euros or something. Funnily, the have put all these (empty) shrimp heads into the past to make it look as if you are getting 15 prawns/shrimps in there, when in fact you are are getting 3 or something. What was very uncomfortable also was that the guy that was inviting us into the restaurant was giving these fairytales that the restaurant has history and that the recipes are from his family (grandma I think), etc., which was just ridiculous. He also kept coming to our table, which we did not wish for, he was asking where we are from (obviously trying to profile and categorize us). Overall, I did not have a pleasant experience at this restaurant...
Read moreThe location of the restaurant is truly stunning, right by the sea, at the port of Kythnos. The staff and owners were exceptionally kind and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The dishes were tasty, made with fresh ingredients, the handmade tirokafteri dip and fresh-cut fries were definite highlights, and the greens were freshly picked.
However, the prices on several items and drinks felt noticeably high. For example, €12 for anchovies (a decent portion), €15 for fried calamari with a moderate portion size, €7 for greens, and €3.50 for a canned soft drink. Even the large bottle of water was €2.50, which is a bit steep. While the sea view and ambiance are undoubtedly beautiful, the prices don’t always match the quality or quantity served.
Overall, it’s a lovely experience in a great spot, but pricing adjustments would make it much...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience. The owner was so enthusiastic and welcomed us as we first just were taking photos of the sunset.
He encouraged us to walk 15 minutes further first, to round the bend at better height for the last moments of sunset.
Tables were all aligned with the view. Food was uniformly excellent. Great service. Beautiful location!
We were 5 people. Ordered Greek salad, zucchini balls (we raved about them), and fava bean mash to start.
Stuffed vine leaves with meat in a lemon sauce (we forgot to take photos of everything else, the food disappeared so quickly!), Baby goat in lemon sauce, pork souvlaki, moussaka.
Food was delicious, affordable. The owner brings a creamy ice cream they make themselves at the end.
The cats seemed so respectful.
A beautiful meal we all...
