The Positives:|1. The receptionist—especially the woman working the night shift—was incredibly welcoming and friendly. She’s the main reason I gave the hotel 3 stars instead of 2.|2. Our room had a nice sea view, although half of it was obscured by trees since we were on the first floor.|3. The reception desk stays open until 23:00, which was a big plus since we arrived late at night. Not all hotels in Lefkada offer late check-in.|4. Breakfast was decent overall. While there wasn’t much variety, the quality was acceptable and consistent.|5. Daily room cleaning was provided (though there were some issues—see below).|The Drawbacks:|1. The room was small and very basic. It had an old office-style fridge, no proper table, and no coffee cups—though there was an electric kettle (and an espresso machine with small espresso cups!). The closet was small with no drawers or shelves. The bed and mattress were old and uncomfortable.|2. The Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable. Cable TV only worked occasionally, and the only English channel available was BBC.|3. Room maintenance was a major issue. The toilet seat was loose and fell off during our stay. The toilet brush was rusty, the soap holder was barely attached to the wall, and several lights and sockets didn’t work. Towels and sheets were worn out and clearly overdue for replacement.|4. Housekeeping lacked proper supervision. Items were often left uncleaned, and one day they even forgot to lock our room door—fortunately, nothing was stolen.|5. The location isn’t walkable to shops or restaurants, which became more inconvenient than we expected. Every outing required a car, even if you just want to buy something in the supermarket or go to eat outside.|Final Thoughts:|We stayed in three different hotels during our trip to Lefkada, and this one ranked lowest in terms of value for money. My advice to the hotel owner: replace the maintenance manager (if he/she exist)! A full renovation might be expensive, but even small upgrades—like replacing outdated appliances and linens—could significantly improve guest...
Read moreThere is a Romanian saying: „Omul sfinteste locul” which means: „It is the person who sanctifies where he lives” and I think it perfectly describes the experience we had at Aliki hotel. Of course, it is a really nice hotel (actually the best hotel in Greece I’ve ever stayied at) with a gorgeous veranda that offers some breathtaking views of the Ionian sea, the rooms were clean and spacious, however, the best part of our stay at Aliki were the people. From the manager (Dimitri), Cristina and Angelika (from the reception), bar to the cleaning staff they were simply amazing. Always smiling, friendly, caring and could not do enough for you. They were always ready to help and even organize whatever we asked for (from boat rental, boat trip, great restaurant suggestions – by the way Kanioria and Lefkatas were simply excellent 😊 ). In the morning they would greet everyone with a warm smile, friendly talk and helped us have a perfect start of the day. Not to mention that on the evening of our arrival (about 10 PM, after 14 hours in the car) Dimitri and Cristina were so kind to offer us some alternatives for dinner even if the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant. They made us feel like home and I’ m not wrong when I say that these people are the definition of service excellence!
Dimitri, Cristina, Angelik and all of you guys hopefully will see you again!
Take care & Big hug from...
Read moreWow what a hotel !!! I loved the outstanding view, the breakfast, the facilities but above all I'm still excited from the experience of meeting the owner of this hotel "Costa" and his crew, the hospitality was so warm when we got there and during our stay, the manager of the hotel was happy to help us with any issue and information regarding the island, but I'm so thrilled from their kindness because we meet a couple that had an accident on the island the owner of the hotel himself came and handle all what was required for them, including escorting them to the hospital, making sure they will have a place on the flight on his account ( others stayed in his hotel for free so the couple will have place) and more sugesters I won"t share with you only to make it short, I"m thrilled because in my experience I meet the grace of Greece in the character of costa and his crew, it was a continues giving and not just a one time suggester. Thank you Costa and the crew for letting me experience how it is to be surrounded by grace. I can only wish myself...
