Dining at Segreto Vino e Cucina in Nydri, Lefkada was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. This charming Italian restaurant exceeded every expectation with its thoughtful presentation, incredible flavors, and warm, attentive service.
We started with the mushroom risotto arancini, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and rich and creamy within—an exquisite introduction that set the tone for the evening. We paired our meal with local white wine and rosé, both of which were beautifully balanced and complemented the food wonderfully.
For mains, the carbonara was executed to perfection—creamy, savory, and authentic. But the highlight was the linguine cacio e pepe, prepared table-side in a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. Watching it come together before our eyes added a theatrical element that made the dish taste even more extraordinary.
The service was equally memorable. Our waiter, Dimitris, was friendly, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic. He went out of his way to accommodate a special birthday request for our friend, surprising her with a show-stopping crème brûlée served over dry ice. It wasn’t just dessert—it was a moment.
Segreto lives up to its name—it’s truly a secret worth sharing. If you’re in Lefkada and looking for a refined yet inviting place to enjoy Italian cuisine with heart, this is the spot. We’ll...
Read moreGoogle rating does not do justice for Segreto. It is 6 star in every aspect. By far the most refined and elegant cuisine we have had on our 6 weeks in Greece and Turkey. Prices reflect the quality and skill of the chef and the staff. It is not cheap but excellence never. A great alternative to local fare. Italian theme but modern style. My Veal Steak cooked medium rare was cooked to perfection and wonderfully tender. Pink all the way through. My wife’s Pork Tenderloins were equally perfect. Servings are generous, so an option of sharing a dish may work, then order another if needed. Views are lovely and parking was easy inside this beautiful resort. A perfect place for a romantic evening. We booked to 7:00 to experience the twilight sunset. Sorry, No pictures of the food. However a professional photographer was doing those shots for a proud Chef as we arrived. I am glad we did not miss this experience at the lovely Nydri. A must for us the go again. Thanks to Tzina for being so attentive and engaging as are all the staff. Well done to the Chef and his team. By the way, I would suggest you book. Our bill for an entree, 2 mains, water, bottle of wine was €123. Just to give an order of costs. Desserts are about €12 to € 15 each. The Pavlova was creative...
Read moreSo disappointing. Food was really delicious (5 stars), but the service was a nightmare. They did a mistake with both the starter and the main course. After the error with the starter we thought everything was going to go smooth (the maitre said that due to the error the appetizer was on them, and this was nice), but then the main plate was also wrong, and nobody apologized for this.
They obviously replaced it, but I missed the chance to eat a dinner together with my partner (he was having a risotto, while I had to wait 15 mins for my tagliatelle, so the whole dinner was really weird!). I’m quite sure it was not my fault because there’s no chance I misspelled the order since the names of the plates are Italian, and I’m a native speaker.
I would suggest to pay more attention to the service. Maybe having one single waiter per table instead of four different people might improve the customer experience.
However, reading the other reviews about the staff I think it probably wasn’t our lucky night.
Balance of the evening: 88 euros for a...
