Monodentri villa — Hotel in Lefkada Municipality

We had a great holiday in Monodentri Villas. Around the house we had plenty of privacy. ||We were totaly not aware of the presence of the guests in the other six villas. ||The characteristic cottage was tastefully decorated. Matching the cottage and Greece. ||The private pool was lovely with a great view over the valley. ||The owner, Panos, welcomed us with a bottle of good wine. The rest of the week he respected our privacy. At the end of the holiday, he came by with a nice gift, Greek olive oil. ||There was an aircon, a small kitchen and a good bed. Each day the poolboy came to clean the pool and every other day the cleaning lady. ||Just 5 minutes away by car from Monodentri is the village of Vasiliki with nice restaurants around the cozy harbor. The harbor of Sivota is also pleasant to on restaurant (15 min drive). At the nearby beaches of Afteli Beach and Mikos Gailos you can relex in the sun. (note: rocky-beach). And you should definitely go to the beach of Porto Katsiki (45 min drive). ||Also worth a trip is the cascade of Nidri and a ferryboat trip to the island of Meganisi. ||A bit further away on the mainland, the the ruins of the ancient city of Nicopolis (dir. Stayed here a week through an agency planning a relaxed vacation.|House which is considered as two room accommodation is an open space with twin bed on the ground floor an double single beds on the second level.|House is nicely but inefficiently decorated, for example the couch is under the stairs, eventually we learned the hard way to sit and stand up without bumping our head. Dining table is missing in the set up. Small but equipped kitchen served our needs.|Bathroom is nice and big but need urgent maintenance, bath is moldy, WC seat is not fastened and the hangers are missing.|Outside there is a private small swimming pool.|Service is good, two times bed and towels were refreshed; on the last day we have received a farewell present and a bottle for my birthday.|It is a shame the accommodation is situated just above the main road, busy traffic during day preventing sometimes proper discussion and racing motors waking us at night made the vacation unpleasant and...

We stayed in Villa Louisa for two weeks and enjoyed it very much. For 2 people the house is quite large, and the private pool is fantastic. The villas are located in a quiet and secluded place, surrounded by olive trees and sheep; very relaxing. Lots of mosquitoes though, so make sure to bring a repellant. There is a great tavern in walking distance; the small town of Vassiliki is ca 10 minutes away by car.||||Vassiliki and its surroundings is a great place from which to explore the island as a whole (provided you have a car): it's easy to reach the towns on the east coast (Lefkada city is ca. 30-45 minutes away by car), while the amazing beaches on the west coast such as Egremni are less than an hour away.
