Old plane tŕee/Ο Γέρο Πλάτανος — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

It was pure chance to discover this tavern and we stopped there precisely because of its appearance. To us, it looked like there you may find something authentic, home made greek food. And so it was. They made us fall in love with the Greek mousaka. And then we had dinner there every other day and tried different dishes, all delicious.

To conclude, it's a small and charming tavern where you will find tasty traditional recipes. It is away from the crowded beaches, friendly and cozy at night.

Me and my husband still mention them from time to time: "remember that night at The Old Plane Tree ... remember when we asked for an extra portion of mousaka to take away... remember when we first stopped there after a day at the beach"

Good food, nothing special compared to other restaurants near or in Vasiliki. Good portion size, normal prices. However, the service is horible. They have two girls who were very annoyed with us (especialy the blonde one). Their atitude was very arrogant towards us with no reason. Seeing that there were only brits and germans at the tables, my guess is they disrespect romanians. I must note that we were 6 people at the table, we ordered wine, water, starters, main course and desert. Its our forth consecutive year in Greece and we were never treated so badly. We are looking to come back to Vasiliki, but will definetly avoid this place. There are lots better down...

This restaurant was suggested to us by our host Stathis. We ate here three times on our holiday and each time it was a very good experience. The staff is really friendly and will help with suggestions. Authentic lefkadian dishes like lentil salad are very good. I also had meatballs in tomato sauce which were very tender and very tasty. I can also recommend the Olympia menu, it offers a variety of starters, grilled meat, a greek salad, bread and wine. There is also a little store where they sell local proucts like olive oil and soap. In the two weeks we were at the beautiful Lefkas Island this was the best restaurant we found. Highly...
