Marina's Rooms — Hotel in Lipsi Municipality

I met Maria at the port, I hadn't booked and she had a free room, the island is small and often there is no room, I was lucky but I don't mean only the place because reviewing the rooms is almost simple if you look only at perfection , this place is perfect in its imperfections, this is the True Greece that I felt in the family and part of them in the chats with her and her son between a Greek coffee and a homemade cake, I felt like a daughter when he taught me how to make Greek coffee, I would have been more than 2 nights but I want to see 2 other islands before returning to the UK, the room I had was facing the sea, simple and with everything you need, the shower is special but nothing is missing, the view above all, in the center but outside the center great for not having the shouting of people in the restaurants, if you change the room it will be above all to make sure that you are happy. she also worked hard to find me a quad bike I wanted to get around the island, in the rental next door she didn't have it available but thanks to her I got the vehicle I wanted at a good price and I enjoyed it like crazy. it is a quaint accommodation not a resort made for those who love Greece. I asked to change my reservation dates to two days later while i saw that the room was still available also two days later. I told her that she could change the dates only if the room was still available and noone booked it the night before so there would be no case that the owner would "lose" money. Instead the owner wanted to convince me to pay for the previous and new dates, offering me also a discount in the rooms as if that what i was looking for. She clearly did not understand (or did not want to understand), was agressive and shouting at me on the phone. She didnt do it because it is "difficult". Ofcourse she kept the full amount of my reservation (which she requested and i had sent). I guess she is friendly only when it suits the owner. I decided to not even go to the island as with this kind of behaviour, it is not a place someone would want to interact with such people. Also she gave me no receipt for transferring the money and requested to not make it like a transaction that could be interpeted like a booking. I would like to have my receipt please, otherwise...

Marina is a lovely lady but a deep well of problems and anxiety mostly caused by the sub par pansion she runs and difficult visitors to her rundown rooms. Being reasonable low stress brits we got moved 3 times during our stay, each room more appalling as the last. Dodgy electrics, lamps with dead bulbs in, damp miserable rooms which have certainly seen better days. On our last night, the hottest night, every time we turned on the air con the electricity blew. The trouble is Lipsi has so little accommodation if you haven't planned ahead you will struggle to even get a room here.
