The studios are located about 15 minutes walk from the town of Aegina. The road was not too busy when we were there (early March), some has a footpath beside it. Much of the route can be taken alongside the beach (from the side of Apollo's Temple further away from the town), though this will involve ascending some steep steps (so don't attempt with luggage!) There is a good view of sunset from the roadside, and from the studios themselves. Our apartment was clean and well-equipped, with heating (for cold nights) and plenty of room for two people (and we had a couple of human visitors too). Cat visitors are on tap too! The facilities are excellent, though there are just two induction hobs for cooking: no elaborate meals possible, but ample for breakfast and basic meals like pasta. The owners and staff are delightful, we were surprised to find our beds made and rubbish cleared daily by a friendly and cheerful lady. We were greeted on arrival and had everything explained to us, and seen off on departure - people could not have been more helpful. Most days we were able to breakfast outside and we could bring a table in for evening meals. The island is great to explore, a few places are easy walking distance (Aegina town and museum itself, the sculptor's studio - free! - a 15 minute walk up the road). We only used the bus service a couple of times - buses seemed to run on time, and when the ticket office is closed you can get tickets from the driver. Lucky for us we had friends on the island who enjoyed showing us their favourite walks - on most of these we were almost alone, there were a very few other people taking in the remarkable old Byzantine churches scattered around Paleochora (spellings vary). take bus to Nectarios and walk from the pilgrimage site to discover these). There was one Greek young woman reading a book under one of the ancient olive trees, otherwise we were completely alone for the walks to and from the olive grove that dates back thousand of years. We had a little guide book to the island that features brief accounts of most villages and historical sites; gave useful background information. All in all, we had a brilliant week and look forward to...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay and can't say enough positive things about the gorgeous property and wonderful staff! The grounds are enchanting and the rooms are charming and well appointed with kitchenettes and private terraces. It's located in a quieter spot on the island which offers privacy and is also adjacent to some less crowded beach spots. The main port town is only a 15-20 minute walk away, so it is very ideally situated.
Our host, Anthe, was not only welcoming, but also supremely helpful with recommendations and local information. She also demonstrated incredible kindness - when my partner stepped on a sea urchin, she met us at the medical centre, helped us communicate with the medical staff and gave us a lift back to the property!

Read moreWe stayed at Luisa apartment. Very comfortable and fully equipped with everything a family with two little children may ask for. Carefully refurbished with great taste, with all the amenities one may need. Earthy and peaceful ambience, the perfect get away. Friendly and helpful staff, especially sweet Flutra! It would be lovely to have the option of breakfast on the lovely grounds of the residence, for example the common terrace next to the artists atelier, as an extra service at an extra cost. Since the residence is out of town, so getting breakfast isn't so easy. We had a lovely stay, we are...
