Booked Aug 31 2017 at the last minute having tried to get Moraitika where we stayed before. As stated in many other reviews the Hotel is simple and clean with a very friendly staff. Sheets and towels changed and rooms cleaned every single day by a lovely lady. Hotel is 50m from the beach with ample parking around it. We tried the restaurant the first day we arrived and had a great pizza special ā¬15.30 and two beers. We didn't quite get through the 28cm pizza! Glyfada has only about 3 tavernas in all and the bit of beach we sampled first was in front of the hotel where my wife was nervous. I thought that we had made a mistake not getting Moraitika. We tried the hotel restaurant again that first evening and were not disappointed. Next day we walked further down the beach towards the Louis Grande hotel and found a perfect spot for swimming. Given that we did not feel the need to try any other restaurant and found that the other 90% of the beach was perfect for both the nervous paddler and me who likes some wave action we forgot all about Moraitika. Don't be fooled into thinking that while the nearest village (Pelekas) is just 50 mins (4.2km) walk away it could be interesting to visit there some evenings. Walking uphill along switch-back roads in 29C temperatures and returning in pitch black later on is not an option. The Glyfada traders should really pay attention to specific small areas where litter is a problem. Where are the dustbins? Visitors coming to Glyfada are probably accustomed to the principle of the litter fine and would use bins if provided. Back to the hotel, just a few areas that could make it really excellent... In Ireland and England we place more emphasis on breakfast cereal than the Greeks do so I would like to see the hotel offer something more than just cornflakes and choco something. How about some muesli?
Take the breakfast cereal back into the kitchen during the day.
I know the locals ignore the wasps which are a Corfu-wide issue but they drive the visitors crazy. There must be some ways of minimising the issue.
Ground-floor rooms do not have a sea view because of the lemon trees.
Overall it is on the list for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDoooood Iām sitting in the restaurant overlooking the Ionian Sea and I am at peace. There are many wonderful places Iāve found on my first trip to Greece but this is the most wonderful. Iām here for the wedding of my best mate and they I think put me down here to keep me from spreading my craziness. Hah easier said than done baby!! Iāve made friends with everyone from this hotel and they treated me as if I was family. Augustinos is perhaps the most humble gentleman you can ever ask to meet and he runs the whole show. But without an ounce of apprehension. Iām kinda an embarrassing fahker and I was running late to my friends wedding and the hotel called all the taxis but, as it was Friday at 2:45pm, they were all slammed. The lady at the front desk (and her gorgeous daughter) tried everything to get me a lift. And then who took me to the Cecilia Estates for the most beautiful wedding Iāve ever attendedāā freeking Augustinos- the owner of the hotel!!!!!! Iāve never experienced anything like this. This would NEVER happen in Boston.||Btw the hotel is absolutely fantastic and everything was the epitome of perfection. The mattresss was so comfortable that I couldnāt even wake up for the free morning buffetā¦. but they still let me in when I would finally show my face. And the food was ridiculously good- not just at the buffet but the on-site restaurantāāfahkin amazing. I could use another week here, but as is the case, I have to leave my new home and head back to my fam in the states. ||Btw btw the hotel gets 6 stars out of 5 on cleanliness. Just freaking book it already and when youāre feeling as at peace as I have for the last 4 days just raise a glass and remember- I TOLD U SOOO!!! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been to Glyfada Beach Hotel for a 6-night stay and it was the best hotel we could have asked for!
The ladies at the front desk are outstanding!! I've never felt so welcomed in a hotel and never met friendlier hosts before. Both ladies were super helpful with every request we had (boatcruises, rental car, recommendations, wine-glasses and corkscrew for the balcony etc). It made the stay extremly convinient. One recommendation: if you have some time, talk to Olympia at the front desk. We had some great chats with her. She's inspiring!
The hotel itself and our room were very clean. Roomservice is doing a great job to clean up the sand that is carried into the room from the beach. Very important: also the toilet and bathtube are clean. Every room has a balcony with an unbelievable sea-view. It's really right next to the beach (just 1 minute and you're in the water). Also breakfast was good everyday, we enjoyed it at the hotel's terrace
Definitely a hotel that I'll visit again. Highly recommended. Also great service for the price.
