Evie`s Villa - Kalathas - Chania — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

Family owned Evies Houses has 4 appartments surrounded by a nice garden and pool with sunbeds and cosy corners to sit. The appartments are very spacious (60 sqm and 90 sqm with 30 sqm terrasse/balcony) and well equiped with everything you need incl. a big fridge with freezer, oven, microwave etc. all decorated in a lovingly modern way, new and very important: absolutely clean. You have satelite TV and WiFi working perfectly but who cares in this beautiful place of the world? The pictures on the homepage don't lie. Evies Houses is not far away from the nice Kalathas Beach (2 min by car or 5 min by bike which are provided free of charge), supermarket is around the corner. ||||The atmosphere is very private and relaxed thanks to Babis the host. He takes great care of the place and especially of his guests. We arrived in the evening and were warmly welcomed. He even put some drinks and a little breakfast in the fridge so that we had all we need upon arrival without any stress. Always good mooded he is happy to help you with anything you need and provides you with any information where to go on the island, where to get the real good local food and products. If any problem (which we didn't have but just in case) you can call him any time and he will manage. ||||The location of Evies Houses is a good homebase for nice trips to the best parts of Crete, the airport of Chania is only 15 minutes away, you can hear the planes sometime but it doesn't affect the relaxing you get from this place. ||||All in all it was a very pleasant stay and we enjoyed the privacy of this place. What can you say about Evie’s Houses? ||The apartments are ideally placed for airport, beaches, restaurants and Chania. ||The building and grounds are kept in excellent condition. ||There is a lovely, good-sized swimming pool, sunbeds and umbrellas, a shower and a barbecue with eating area. ||||We stayed in one of the two bedroomed apartments. The lower floor is spacious, beautifully furnished and open plan with lounge, dining area and a fully fitted kitchen. An outside terrace has table, chairs and an umbrella for al fresco dining. The upper floor has a bathroom and two spacious double-bedded rooms, each with fitted wardrobes with plenty of storage space, and a king-sized bed with comfortable mattress and pillows. One bedroom has an unfurnished balcony with views across the Akrotiri peninsular and its olive groves. The other has a balcony with views across olive groves to the sea. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. ||The apartment is so comfortable it’s really more like a home than a holiday apartment. The internet connection was better there than we get at home in the UK!||||Babis is just a special guy. His English is excellent, he is so hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. His recommendations for places to eat were first class. He and his wife, Katerina, are a lovely couple and are perfect ambassadors for Cretan hospitality and tourism. ||||We certainly plan to return...

I need more space to really explain how amazing this place is. The host, Babis, is one of the most hospitable humans to ever live. He and his wife have created the most unique experience, making us feel like we were old friend guests in their home. ||||The location is perfect. You are a short ride from or to the airport and near fantastic restaurants. ||||If you want to get to Chania for some shopping, you are only 15 minutes away. Want to go to the beach (and you should - the beaches are clean and the water pristine), you are only 5-15 minutes away from all beaches on Akrotiri (the peninsula where the airport is). If you want to go for a hike in the canyons near an old monastery, you are 10 minutes away. Seriously, this place is close to it all.||||And if you want to just stay in, and enjoy the quiet atmosphere, throw some food on the bbq, or lay out at the pool...you have that right there.||||We will definitely be back. Probably a few times. Like I said, when you stay here you make a new friend, and gain a new home. I could not more enthusiastically recommend...
