I found this neighborhood treasure during our last evening in Crete on April 30, 2025, staying nearby at the Lagon Resort Hotel. After a long day of travel around Crete, I needed takeout dishes to bring back to our hotel. Bourakis Restaurant was perfect! I walked in as a stranger from America and was treated like a member of the family. I sat outside with a glass of white wine while waiting for our meals to be prepared. I was envious of the guests who enjoyed the warm cozy atmosphere inside for dine-in. I wanted to bring my wife back for lunch the next day but we ran out of time. The best Greek food and service! We came here on our first night in Crete. Everything was so good that we came every night after until our trip ended. They start you with free appetiser (bread and paste) and you get free desert and raki and the end of the dinner. And it's not only the free food. Everything you buy is delicious, from the vegetarian meals, to the 2/4 person appetisers and salads, the special daily menu offers or the meal main courses. Very good restaurant of traditional Greek cuisine, with a very nice terrace under the vine grows and very pleasant staff. Food is typically Greek with large variety of meze and meet dishes. Portions are large, so you will not stay hungry. Prices are OK, kinda average for this type of place in Chania. We paid more because we ordered 600gr od 40 days aged steak, which alone costed 47eur. The steak, as well as rest of food was very tasty. Our finding of the evening were their eggplant rolls, which were exceptionally tasty. Lemon pie was also fantastic.
