On arrival, we were picked up by the taxi that was organised through the hotel. It only took approximately 25 minutes to get to the hotel by car. We were greeted by Billy, who was extremely helpful and explained everything in detail to us and showed us the room. We were immediately impressed by the stunning view from the room and the modern interior. All the facilities were super new and the room was sparkling clean (and cleaned daily). What we enjoyed extremely much was how comfortable the beds were. We read a lot of reviews saying the beds are very comfortable, but we did not actually expect to sleep THIS well! Breakfast was amazing every morning, it had a lot of variety (fresh smoothies & juice every day), and you could taste that thought was put into every dish. I think the breakfast was especially nice because it had such a calm vibe with wind, shade, and a view of the ocean. Since there are no kids allowed in this hotel, we enjoyed the quiet poolside every day. But most of all, we felt that the service experience was so personalized to our needs by the team. When we asked for dinner recommendations, we were never disappointed, and we felt that the staff paid close attention to our needs and did everything they could to make us have a good time. On the last day, we had to leave at 6:00AM in order to catch our flight, and Costas made sure to prepare us a bag with food that we could take with us so that we wouldn’t miss our last day’s breakfast. There was a big selection of cocktails that you could order by the pool, and the ones we tried did not disappoint. Thank you to the team for such a lovely week, we enjoyed every day!!! Our favourite dinner restaurants:
Disliked · There are only a few things that we would have liked to be different. Firstly, we thought that breakfast ending at 10 (sharp) was a bit early. In order to get the full breakfast experience, we usually had to get up at 9:00 latest in order for there to be something left of everything on the buffet. On holidays it would just be nice to sleep a bit longer until like 9:30/10:00:) We also thought that the music by the pool would have been nicer if it was a loungy vibe, as it could have changed the overall atmosphere a lot. The location is another important factor to consider - we were on the lookout for walking-distance/not too touristy authentic Greek places, and we found three that we really liked, but would have wished there to be more. At times we thought there were too many restaurants that target German &...
Read moreThis hotel has such good reviews that I was a already paranoid that they might be fake, but it’s a real paradise on earth!! Great place for a babymoon! Stalida can be really busy, so the hotel up on the hill is nice and peaceful. It’s still only a short walk go the waterfront for dinner - I especially recommend the restaurant at Maistrali Apartments. The staff at the hotel was friendly and attentive all the time, felt like family! Also, our flight was extremely delayed and they waited up for us until 1:30 at night. Everything is nicely renovated and looks classy. Breakfast had the usual staples, but also something new every day, often Greek specialities. Tasty salads etc available for lunch by the pool. No dinner, but the staff can help you order really cheap take out that you can enjoy on the terrace. I’d recommend getting a rental car for your stay on Crete. The beach in Stalida wasn’t the nicest, but there is a very cool beach about a 15minute drive away called Sarantari. In the other direction along the coast, there is Potamos beach about 10 minutes away with a nice Taverna next to the parking lot. Heraklion city center is also worth checking out - lots of cool cafes, restaurants and shops. Frankly Cafe for coffee or craft beer and Zalo for unique gifts and post cards. Parking Heraklion Port costs 3€ for the day and is right next to the Venetian Harbor, Archeological museum etc. ENJOY!!! And big thanks again...
Read moreMy daughter and I have just returned from a week at this fabulous hotel. The location is great, set slightly uphill so the views are amazing, but only a 5 minute walk to the beach. All the staff members went above and beyond to be welcoming and friendly, ensuring we had an enjoyable stay, with special thanks to Monica, Vangelis and Mike. There is a lovely swimming pool, with a pool bar serving drinks and snacks. The choices at breakfast were continental style, which varied daily. Our room was fabulous, very modern and clean, with a huge comfortable bed, air conditioning (a must in Crete in July), a Nespresso coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, large patio area with a double day bed, patio chairs & table. Best of all is the owner Michalis, always smiling and full of fun, he treats all his guests with the upmost respect, nothing is too much trouble. We will be...
