The IRO's Residence Hotel in Agios Konstantinos is a small-scale hotel run by a local brother and sister. Both of them were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Konstantina takes care of the small breakfast buffet each morning, which has plenty of choice (bread, marmelades, yoghurt/fruit, cereals, eggs and pastries, all slightly varying each day). Konstantinos serves as general manager, receptionist, poolboy and bartender in one. He is very attentive by giving you complimentary cold water the moment you lay down on the sunbeds, providing you with tips on what to do on the island and is always present to provide you a cocktail or beer at night.
The rooms are recently renovated and are cleaned on a daily basis. The bathroom is simple, but clean. It is certainly more than you can expect from an average 3* hotel in Greece.
The hotel is located on the eastern end of the Agios Konstantinos boulevard. In this quiet town you find a few restaurants and cafés. To be able to visit other towns as well as beaches, you do however need a rental car which you can park behind the hotel.
All-in-all, I truly recommend staying in this hotel if you consider...
Read moreFirstly I must say we live on Samos and this holiday was booked as part of my sister’s visit to us which unfortunately did not happen due to coronavirus so we used it instead. ||On to the review. |This Hotel has reopened after being closed for a good few years (10 I believe) with new owners. |The Hotel is spotless and has been beautifully decorated throughout. Our room (6) overlooked the pool and was immaculate in every way. Due to the virus and rules being what they are you requested cleaning when necessary which was done almost immediately.||Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, delivered to your table in accordance with the rules. ||All public areas are exceptionally well mentioned and spotless throughout the day. ||Pool area very clean with loungers assigned your room which you can move around again within virus rules. ||The owners Jack & Margret are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Both are extremely knowledgeable of the area with all its walks & hikes. ||In summary my sisters loss was definitely our gain and we will definitely be going back there again with or without her. |If you plan to visit Samos this hotel is a...
Read moreI have been to Samos every year for 10 years and have stayed in some very nice 4 star hotels on the Island. Hotel Iro surpasses them all. Hidden in the tiny village of Agios Konstantinos, this very inexpensive hotel offers internet, a/c, a simple breakfast, a beautiful pool, and very comfortable rooms. The owner oversees everything even carrying your bags to your room on arrival. For rest and relaxation this is truly the value-stay place on the Island.||||If you stay in Agios make sure you eat at Apolanafsi (1 block from the hotel). To Kyma is also a fantastic restaurant (1 block the other way from the hotel). Top your night off at Northstar bar.||||For your day trips make a steep hike up to Manolates and try an omelete with feta and french fries (really it is good) at Despinas. For dessert try kataiefi. Lukas is also a nice place to eat as is the first restaurant at the bottom of the village.||||The village of Agios is very inexpensive so if you can stay a couple of days there it will be a good experience. Agios is not a party town but is perfect for R&R and long talks in the...
