Money worst spent
We’ve decided to book the room, although quite expensive, because it seemed perfect for relaxed holidays. At a first glance the room seemed perfect, very tastefully decorated, very spacious and with a lovely terrace with pool view. Seconds afterwards it all fell apart. Towels yellowish due to extensive use, pillows with black and dust marks deliberately facing the wall so that they would not be noticed, dirt on the hair dryer and on the toilet paper holder. I called the manager and showed them and received a cheap excuse of this being the result of early check in and insisted to allow for a cleaning round under her supervision, which I did. When we returned in the room that afternoon, towels and pillow cases were changed (towels not in a much better condition) and all the points I had designated were perfectly cleaned showing evidently that this dirt was of months and not due to early check in. Unfortunately for them it did not end there. I decided to turn on a sea urchin lamp and sit on the sofa next to it only to realize that cleaning was totally absent for years- I did not even bother to ket her know, it made no sense. Then we had the a la carte breakfast, for which they are proud of. Everyday we had differently cooked eggs, a basket with bread, croissants and cake (one of each for each of us), freshly squeezed juice, butter, marmalade, yoghurt with fruits which seemed ok. Yet, we had to request every time for a second small glass of orange juice or a second egg. The day with poached eggs we were entitled of one poached egg each, on avocado toast and when we asked for a second one we were informed that they can bring the egg but they had run out of avocado so we had the second egg fried and totally dried. The other great experience was in the shower that due to wrong inclination we had to interrupt several times and push the water towards the drain otherwise the water would come out in the bathroom or even outside of it. Of course a solution was again proposed to use more towels on the floor to stop the leak. If I had to think of a positive for this experience would only be Aggelos, who was really polite and helpful providing valuable info for the island, beaches and restaurants. I could also live with the breakfast but I really do not sympathize with the misconstruction issues or the lack of qualified cleaning personnel on high season when I pay 300€ per day. It almost ruined...
Read moreI booked last minute a trip to Folegandros a Lemon Tree Houses after some extensive travel and needed for a place to relax, work and enjoy Greece. Originally I booked for 9 nights but after 36 hrs from my stay at this gem of hotel I decided to extend further for a total of 21 nights stay! I guess this sets the scene for how much I loved it. ||The property itself is what a boutique hotel is about: attention to detail in the way the spaces are thought about and designed. Space (40 sqm room!), tasteful interiors, comfort and all the amenities you need for a perfect stay. Each house (5 in total, so it's a blissful small affair not a big hotel) has a private outdoor space, a handy kitchenette equipped with everything you need to prepare a small meal or snacks/coffees, lounge area, incredibly spacious bathroom and comfy bed area. |I'd like to mention I had the best nights of sleep I have had in a long time. The energy of the place and it's surroundings makes sleep and relaxation somehow possible! ||The place is run brilliantly. Athanasia, Maria and Cedric not only looked after me but also made me feel at home. Such friendly, professional and lovely team, they are the best example of the amazing, warm and kind Greek hospitality. No is not an answer for them and they were always super resourceful on helping with anything I might have needed - from vehicles rentals to any sort of tips related to a long stay. ||Honestly, I could have not had a better experience.||I will definitely come back, thank you Lemon Tree houses for having me in your beautiful boutique hotel and for making me feel so welcome...
Read moreWe had the most wonderful 6 night stay at Lemon Tree Houses. Maria and Athanasia were beyond brilliant, they were always on hand with the best advice of what to do each day depending on the wind conditions. They were so friendly and enthusiastic and had already thought of everything, from boxes for the bits of breakfast we didn’t eat to umbrellas for the beach. The breakfast itself was delicious and so plentiful; each day was different and each day was just as good as the last. Our room was always super clean and comfortable - we slept incredibly well throughout the entire trip, the bed was AMAZING!
Lemon Tree is located in the little village of Ano Maria and with a supermarket, restaurants and a coffee shop nearby. You can get into Chora by bus or by renting a car - Maria organised car rental for us which was super easy. But the property itself has a lovely pool and is so quiet so it’s the perfect place to relax and switch off.
Honestly we cannot recommend this place enough and would definitely...
