Marilen Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Leros

We had a fantastic stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable - we requested a room with shower and ours had a lovely big shower. The room has a kitchenette with fridge, hob and sink which was very handy. We asked for a kettle and one was brought to us shortly after. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evening, which overlooks the beautiful and very well-maintained grounds. We ate at the pool quite a few times, where they do excellent toasties and omelettes, among other things. The pool area is lovely, very quiet in the mornings if you like to swim when there are not many people about, with more people there in the afternoons. Just around the corner there is a bakery and a small supermarket and the hotel is only a few minutes walk to Alinda beach. We also took taxis to Gourna beach, Agia Marina and Pantelli which are busier areas not far away, to the castle to see the views, and to the church in the sea at St Isidoros. We would definitely...

The swimming pool and its surrounding area are nice and children really enjoy their time there. The hotel owners and their staff are very friendly. However, the cleaning lady left my ground-floor room unlocked after cleaning at least 3 times during my 10-day stay. Hopefully, there were no things missing, but this practice is unacceptable. There was only thick curtain in the room, with no visibility at all. The bathroom is very small, problematic in its use and should be renovated asap. The kitchen area has no window or ventilator, while the very basic dishware provided wasn't clean. The closest beach (Alinda) is 5 minutes walk, but it's a narrow and noisy one. Tutte le recensioni positive riguardanti questo favoloso hotel sono veritiere: davvero la struttura è accogliente, spaziosa e curatissima e i proprietari ed il personale sono estremamente cortesi e disponibili a rendere serena la vacanza dei loro clienti. Abbiamo soggiornato per due settimane in un ampio appartamento con 5 letti (due camere, cucina, bagno, terrazza), dotato di aria condizionata, due televisioni satellitari LCD, asciugacapelli, ferro e tavola da stiro, frigorifero, forno a microonde, bollitore dell'acqua, ecc. C'è grande disponibilità di asciugamani e di coperte e le camere vengono pulite tutti i giorni, anche la domenica.||Il giardino è curatissimo e pieno di fiori (accanto alla piscina c’è un bellissimo aranceto), la piscina ampia e ben tenuta, con sdraio e ombrelloni e servizio di bar/ristoro. La cassaforte è gratuita, la connessione internet Wi-Fi funziona benissimo in ogni angolo del residence, si può giocare a biliardo gratuitamente nella hall arredata con gusto. Le coordinate esatte dell’hotel sono 37°9.361N 26°50.082E. La spiaggia (carina) di Alinda è a circa mezzo km dall’hotel, mentre quella di Gourna (meno curata) è a poco più di 1,5 km. C’è un supermercato a 300 metri dall’hotel e la fermata dell’autobus è a meno di 100 metri. Ma tutta questa meraviglia non è nulla in confronto alla disponibilità e alla cortesia di Demetrios e Nancy, i due proprietari: due coniugi affabili, fini, rispettosi e professionali, che tra l'altro parlano un ottimo inglese (Nancy è americana). Hanno provveduto ai nostri trasferimenti dal/al porto all'arrivo e alla partenza, ci hanno accompagnati a prenotare i biglietti per varie escursioni e a noleggiare un'auto, ci hanno suggerito luoghi da visitare, ci hanno indirizzato alla loro parrocchia (ortodossa) dei Santi Quaranta per la liturgia domenicale (purtroppo da tempo non c'è più alcuna chiesa cattolica su Leros; la più vicina è sull'isola di Coo): in poche parole si sono presi cura di noi con stile e senza invadenza. Non è un caso se molti dei clienti di Demetrios e Nancy (provenienti da tutto il mondo) sono abituali (abbiamo conosciuto famiglie canadesi che da più di 12 anni trascorrono lì le loro estati).||Ciò che abbiamo apprezzato di più dell'hotel Marilen è stata proprio questa atmosfera rilassata.
