Taverna Alinda — Restaurant in Municipality of Leros

I am writing this review with a bit of heavy heart since I know both the hotel and the restaurant for many years and usually I was satisfied with their service. This year's experience for me was really disappointing... I came to the restaurant one evening for their live music event which they advertise almost everywhere on the island. Despite the crowd and having no reservation upfront, they managed to find a nice table for me upon a short waiting time. Unfortunately, it took quite long until I could order and I had to wait 30 min for my food to come. They took forever even to bring the bread I asked. The food was in general mediocre. Maybe they should reconsider this extensive advertising of the event (or get more personnel) if they can't keep up with the demand. The worst part for me was a 50+ year-old waiter's hitting on me, sending unrequested drinks in the name of gesture, telling me things like he is happy to have met me or gifting a small part of my order when I was paying the bill. When I came there the next day for the seaside, somehow all the young waiters remembered me, until the point of where I was sitting the last night. They were also trying to engage contact all the time even though I was showing a clear displeasure. It was very uncomfortable as I felt like constantly being watched. On the following afternoon one of the waiters appeared next to my sunbed out of blue and brought again an unrequested drink together with some crackers telling that they are from this old guy (Nick). I had to repeat a few times quite harshly that I don't want it and he should take it back. Eventually he left but leaving those "gestures" with me which I didn't even touch. Of course, I didn't go there again and I am not sure for the next time I am on the island either. Dears, people make solo trips because they WANT it and they would like to enjoy their time, and NOT because they are seeking for a man! Exceptional culinary experience to this sea facing restaurant set in a terrace with green végétations in Alinda bay. Nikita, has managed to source us a dissent 1kg size Lavraki fish, (sea bass) difficult to get in general at Leros, for our Wednesday diner night accompanied with two musicians, a female singer and bouzouki male player, just to make it a memorable evening. The food is prepared with a gourmet style touch, tasty and delicious. We had the prawn linguine, the vine leaves, the fish, the Alinda spécial salad and a bottled wine white to pair with our meal, which I recommend highly at a price of 14€. They offer this scenario on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with live music, so better to choose one of those days rather. You will certainly not be disappointed. Pierwsza wizyta i pierwsze niezapomniane wrażenia kulinarne. Lokal położony przy głównej ulicy miejscowości Alinda. Taverna od samego wejścia sprawia pozytywne wrażenie, szef sali wita gości i proponuje stolik. Lokal dobrze oświetlony, stoliki czyste i ładnie nakryte dużo zieleni co sprawia poczucie jakbyś siedział w ogrodzie. Szef sali zjawił się prawie natychmiast z menu. Czas oczekiwania na dania bardzo przyzwoity, dania podawane w dobrych odstępach czasowych. I teraz to co najważniejsze czyli potrawy serwowane w tym lokalu. Wybór dań jest bardzo przyzwoity (przystawki, sałatki, owoce morza, dania mięsne, dania wegetariańskie, desery) oraz oczywiście napoje, napoje alkoholowe oraz wina. Większość dań to kuchnia grecka w tym dania regionalne. Zamówiliśmy zupę rybną oraz cielęcinę w pomidorach oraz lody na deser. Zupa rybna to najwyższej klasy sztuka kulinarna, jestem miłośnikiem zupy rybnej i wypróbowałem jak mi się zdawało jej każdy rodzaj. Niestety tak wspaniałej jej wersji do tej pory nie miałem okazji. Zupa w wersji z pomidorami, cukinia, marchewka przyprawami dużym filetem z ryby lekko kwaśną to to wspaniałe doznanie kulinarne. Porcja ogromna i to wszystko w przyzwoitej cenie. To samo można napisać o cielęcinie w pomidorach. Cielęcina tak duszona że rozpływała się w ustach. Deser, no cóż to zwykłe lody nie wybijające się niczym specjalnym ale też nie można im nic zarzucić. Podsumowując lokal godny polecenia mam nadzieję że wszystkie potrawy są tak doskonałe, co oczywiście postaramy się chociaż w niewielkiej części sprawdzić. Zapomniałem napisać że dodatkowo niezapomniany klimat lokalu tworzy muzyka grecka grana na żywo. Polecam Następna wizyta. Tawerna pełna, szef sali i tak znajduje dla nas miejsce, oczywiście pomimo dużego ruchu i tak zjawia się prawie natychmiast z menu. Zamówiliśmy sałatkę Alinda, fish souvlaki, pork souvlaki oraz tzatziki. Porcje ogromne nie do przejedzenia wrażenia smakowe nie do opisania. Musicie to spróbować. Rzadko odwiedzamy tą samą restauracje więcej jak dwa razy, lecz w przypadku Tawerny Alinda nie mogliśmy się powstrzymać. Zamówiliśmy sałatkę grecką, risotto z grzybami, krewetkami w sosie kremowym oraz ośmiornice stifado. Pokłony dla szefa kuchni jego potrawy...
