We stayed here for a week in July and were very happy we chose Olea Bay. It is a small, boutique style hotel that is decorated beautifully. Our superior double room was clean and peaceful with a very comfy bed and a beautiful sunset view from our balcony. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice with both hot and cold items as well as some local specialities that we really enjoyed.
Most days we would head out to explore the various beaches around Milos then relax around the pool in the afternoon. No matter what time of day we would head to the pool, there were always free sunbeds and it was lovely and quiet, not something we expected in peak summer season. The poolside bartender Lazarus was fantastic, always making sure we had what we needed without being overbearing. Make sure to ask him to make you one of his signature cocktails, you won't be disappointed!
Another staff member to call out is Hara on reception. Very lovely and friendly, she gave us fantastic recommendations for beaches, restaurants and beach bars that really helped to make our trip. Chrysanthi the evening receptionist also gave us some great restaurant recommendations that we really enjoyed.
The walk into the main town of Adamas is approx 15-20 minutes, or a 5 minute drive. One of the most popular restaurants on the island, O Hamos, is only a 5 minute walk away. A supermarket and petrol station are also within walking distance. The location is great for exploring the island as all of the main beaches/towns to visit are within a 15 minute drive of the hotel.
Highly recommend staying at Olea Bay if you...
Read moreEverything about this hotel was just fabulous! My sister and I are looking to return to this exact accommodation next year, our experience this year was just phenomenal.
To start the hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our room was gorgeous, and the pool and pool bar were wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was also fantastic and the view was stunning! My sister and I really liked that there were staff at the front desk 24 hours a day incase we needed anything. The location of this hotel was about a 15 minute walk into town, so it was very peaceful at all hours of the day which we loved!
I have to say, the hotel staff were the best I've ever experienced in my life. My sister and I became friends with the front desk staff and management, who eagerly attended to our needs and provided us with recommendations for absolutely everything. Although we did our research prior, we were thrilled to have new "must see/must try" things on our list. The staff would check-in daily and we were excited to show them photos of what we were up to. We trusted the hotel staff to book a full-day book tour for us, and that was our Milos highlight by far. We are so grateful to have chosen this hotel, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best possible experience while we were in Milos. We will for sure be...
Read moreThe hotel operated on a very bare-bones basis, providing only the absolute essentials and cutting back on comforts one would normally expect from a 4 star hotel. This hotel was a big contrast to the other 4 star hotels that we stayed in on the other islands. ||The bedding was awful. |There are no duvets, only down market blankets, one of which had a hair trapped inside. ||We wanted cocktails at the pool but there was no service from the barman. Due to this, we spent as little time as possible at the hotel as there was a withholding feeling being in that space.||At breakfast, only filter coffee was available. Any other coffees had to be paid for. |Breakfast buffet was poorly presented.||It came across as a no-frills place taken to the extreme — cheap at the expense of comfort. There was a general feeling of penny pinching. ||Location was not ideal at all. |Polonia was a far better area to stay in. ||That said, it was a pretty hotel building with a lovely pool. If it had been a 3 star hotel, I would’ve been far more generous...
