Meltemi Retreat — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We arrived early from Schinousa at the port of Iraklia and Fanis was there to pick us with his car and help us with our luggage. While we were waiting for our room to be cleaned Fanis showed us around his beautiful property. His boutique hotel is on the top of the hill and has a stunning view of Livadi beach to the South, the port of Agios Giorgios to the North and Schinoussa to the East. He had a cancellation on that day and we were very lucky as he offered us one of his best rooms for a few extra euros. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated in a modern Greek island fashion. Fanis is a local who knows a lot about the island and its history so he was very helpful in organising daily boat trips/walks and showing us the best restaurants in the island. Everyday he would serve us his delicious breakfast which was different every day and full of local delicacies. Fanis runs his hotel with pride and this is truly reflected in the level of service he provides to make his hotel stand out. We miss him and his family and we will definitely go back one day.

😊: Exceptional is the only way to describe Meltemi Retreat! The views are sublime from the large private terrace, the bed comfortable and the room well equipped and very clean. What makes it exceptional though is the kindness and hospitality of Fanis and Ilianna. We were met at the port and taken to the start of our walks each day after a delicious, substantial homemade breakfast and each day Fanis told us more about the history and nature of the island. They kindly gave us gifts of mountain tea and honey when we left. They are the epitome of Greek Philoxenia and we wish them very well. Fanis is able to lead guided walks if you want and yoga and meditation sessions. On a practical note there is a very good restaurant a short walk away and the beach at Livadi is gentle and sandy, a ten minute walk away and the sea was warm enough to swim!. 😢: Nothing. The tiny village shop has very limited supplies! It’s a steep walk up from the port but Fanis offered to collect us from the end...
