Irida Vacation Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We enjoyed 5 nights at these apartments as part of our tour around Greece this summer and had a lovely time. Maria was the perfect host and really looked after us. We had booked a long time ago before Covid, via Booking.com, and had paid in advance on a fixed rate and the hotel allowed us to move the booking twice as Covid stopped us going in 2020 and 2021, but we finally made it in 2022. They charged us no extra, despite it being almost 3 years since we had booked and paid for it. Excellent, flexible service.||Our room was wonderful - a split level apartment with a jacuzzi bath on the balcony with views over the pool area, out to sea. So relaxing! We had a lovely living area downstairs, along with a second bedroom, with the master bedroom upstairs. Lovely big bathrooms on both levels and great products for the shower. The apartment was spotless and the maid spent around an hour in there every day to ensure it stayed spotless. There was a bottle of wine chilling for us on arrival. Just wonderful!||Location-wise, it was a bit of a walk to a shop - only 10 minutes or so, but it was very hot! It was around 5 to 10 minutes walk to the beach and to a few different tavernas. We ate at three different ones (one repeated it was so good - recommended by Maria, the hostess) and loved them all. ||Naxos is beautiful. Ho dato 3 stelle alla stanza per una serie di pecche: la strada per arrivarci ( non eravamo ad Irida ma in una sua dependance chiamata Olive Vista suites) era ripida e non asfaltata con molte buche, difficile in auto molto di più in scooter, il lavandino in camera non lo avevo mai visto, ciò significa che se in coppia uno si alza prima e vuole lavarsi disturba l'altro che magari vuole dormire, così come la doccia a vista in camera che creava molta condensa nella stanza. Il bagno con wc senza finestra e aereatore purtroppo la notte emanava un forte odore sgradevole, dovevamo tenerlo chiuso perché la stanza non ha finestra ma una vetrata con porta di ingresso che essendo al piano terreno non offriva privacy, per cui la dovevamo tenere chiusa e con i tendoni tirati, tenendo la luce accesa di giorno. Per forza di cose dovevamo accendere il condizionatore che per noi era fastidioso anche perché il getto di aria andava direttamente sulla parte del letto dove appoggi la testa. È stato un continuo accendere e spegnere di notte poiché non potendo aprire la porta finestra a causa anche della luce che si accendeva in automatico sulla veranda e obbligava a tenere i tendoni oscuranti tirati la camera diventava rovente. Ma questo non dipende dal personale ma da chi ha progettato queste stanze. Sicuramente chi alloggia al piano superiore ha la possibilità di tenere aperto almeno durante il giorno. La colazione la facevamo ad Irida, a circa 1,4 chilometri, la struttura è molto graziosa ed è dotata di una piscina non molto grande e lettini. Anche il fatto di dover uscire e prendere l'auto per far colazione è stato piuttosto antipatico ( questo solo per chi soggiorna nelle suites Olive Vista). Avrei preferito Irida se non altro per non dovermi spostare ogni mattina. Il personale che la mattina ci accoglieva con il sorriso la mattina lo ricordo con molto affetto. Colazione non eccezionale e sempre uguale per le due settimane che abbiamo trascorso lì: vari tipi di brioches , frutta fresca, yogurt ovviamente, cereali , feta pomodoro e peperoni e per la parte salata calda : uova fritte ( troppo olio!),salsiccette e un bacon non eccezionale che da amante del bacon a colazione ho evitato di mangiare dopo il primo assaggio, terza opzione uova strapazzate con verdure. Punto dolente: dopo le 10 gli scaldavivande sono spenti ( presa staccata) per cui chi come noi andava a far colazione a quell'ora doveva mangiare freddo. Fatto notare più volte poi ho desistito anche perché mi rendo conto che le ragazze lavorano tanto, devono gestire anche le camere e la loro pazienza e cortesia autentica ha reso meno antipatico il tutto ( in un'altra struttura/ contesto avrei fatto le mie rimostranze in maniera più decisa). Gentile e laboriosa la signora che nel primo pomeriggio rifaceva la stanza. Infine un plauso ad Alexandra, la persona che si è presa cura di noi, super efficiente, anche quando il nostro pessimo inglese non le faceva capire nell'immediatezza quello di cui avevamo bisogno non ha mai dato segni di impazienza soprattutto quando era impegnata in altre mille faccende perché gestire due strutture ( Olive e Irida) deve essere estremamente impegnativo. Quindi...che dire? Ci mancherete e ci ricorderemo di voi. Grazie per averci ospitate, pazienza se la camera non era perfetta, alla fine ci siamo sentite a "casa" ( e quale casa non ha delle imperfezioni?) ed è questa la cosa più importante. ...

Stunning hotel with a true Cycladic style. Our room was spotless throughout our stay as were the pool and bar area, Marios the bar manager worked tirelessly. He has such an outgoing fun personality and made us a multitude of top tier cocktails using high quality branded spirits. ||Our room was the honeymoon suite which had a private jacuzzi on the terrace (which was a treat after a long day adventuring around Naxos) and a shower cave which had high pressure and hot water every time. ||The real star of this Hotel was Alexandra the concierge. Upon arrival she sat us down with a map of Naxos and told us all the spots you probably would not find as a tourist, my top pick was the butcher shop taverna that serves the best sausages I’ve ever eaten, she then provided us with welcome drinks. Any small issues we had through our stay she resolved straight away, she was always smiling and so happy. On our final night she surprised us with a honeymoon gift of a tray of fruit, wine and roses in our room. The warmth and kindness she showed to everyone at hotel was beyond what you would expect.||We hope to...
