Porfyris Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Nisyros

Stayed here for 5 nights on our trip around the Dodecanese Islands. The rooms are simply furnished with twin beds, a small balcony and shuttered windows. Bathroom is OK but shower is quite small with a curtain that tries to wrap around you.||Large lounge and bar area with breakfast tables both inside and out on the patio. The swimming pool is salt water and a bit dated but fine for a cooling dip.||So why have I rated it 4*. Well the staff from the local cleaning ladies to the owners are so friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the port and made us very welcome. The location is quiet and close to town/tavernas and the room charge is extremely reasonable. ||This is not a modern resort by any means. I am sat in my room in this absolutely stunning little hotel, writing this review. Its in the heart of Mandraki, not far from the port. Has a pool and breakfast included. Rooms are simply done yet comfortable. Just beautiful. The staff are really friendly & will do anything for you. |Tonight I should be heading to Tilos, but there is a bad weather warning so unsure if it will be delayed or cancelled. I’ve spoken to the staff & if I get to the port and it doesn’t go then I can come back until morning. Great hotel! We stayed here for a week in July'22 as part of a trip around some Dodecanese Islands. Could not fault the place. After 3 islands worth of travel we looked forward to the flexibility of having pool days. The staff are excellent and the facilities are exactly what you need. The location is superb. Only about 5-10 mins from the port (unless you get stuck behind a guided tour!!!) Not far from a little supermarket and of course, the restaurants and bars.
