EKTOR APARTMENTS @SWIMMING POOL — Hotel in Municipality of Northern Corfu

This review like any other of any Greek holiday location must be taken with context and local knowledge.

Yes it's not a 5 star Hilton, yes you cant flush paper down the toilet and yes its basic. But if you are after amazing food, everywhere you go, great people and super family friendly partments then this place will be great for you.

Ektor is exactly that, somewhere where the owner greets you, serves you at the bar and cleans your room. The pool and pool side was safe, convenient and clean.

Drinks can be a little expensive in pool bars, so all you do is head to the nearest supermarket. Conveniently placed 250m away.

Worried about language? Dont be, everyone speaks enough English to help you by.

If your taking the kids or grandkids, then the only thing you will need to worry about is your ego, cause the Greeks like kids more than adults. They will bless them, call them cute and wave to them more than you. They are the centre of attention everywhere you go.

The only downside to the locality is in Sidari there are street sellers who can be a bit pushy. Tell them No Thank You! Sternly and you're away.

I went to Ektor apartments end of August with my 2 daughters. I was very anxious after reading some reviews on here and even tried to change my accommodation. ||But when we arrived I was very surprised. We stayed in a block few yards down the road room 17. And it was lovely. Yes abit dated but your not paying for a 5 star hotel. It was clean enough and I felt very safe alone with my girls. ||We went to the pool every day and the kids loved it. Yes it tinged there costumes abit green sometimes but as I learnt this is just chlorine mixing with there sun cream. ||Our skin or hair didn’t turn green. ||The cleaner came 4/5 times in the 11 days we were there. The only thing I could say is that she could of come early on in the day. As she would always turn up at 6/6.30 when we were showering and trying to get ready to go for dinner. ||I paid 5 euros a day for the air con as it was very warm. It started leaking water one evening but it was fixed the next day and I was refunded for the night I missed. Before visiting and reading the reviews I was quite apprehensive of what the holiday may entail. However, overall we had a lovely stay at Ektor apartments and the staff are considerably accommodating and friendly! We stayed in Block 2 and the apartment was spacious and had everything we required. We paid 5€ per room daily for air con. (We only paid for 1 room though)|The main strip is a short walk alongside a road with no pavement, however as long as you remain vigilant it is a pretty okay walk. |The pool did tinge a couple of swim suits greenish but can easily be washed out, and it didn't turn our skin or hair green.
