Barbecoa Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

The complimentary Greek oil was delicious, even as a dip with bread. We ordered the gyros pita with pork and chicken and both were delicious, for a very decent price! The Greek salad was great and so were the tomatoes and cucumber. We also ordered the grilled anchovies which were really good. There were also really good options for kids: kids menu and a kid corner with toys. They have a screen in the dining area where you can see pictures of the different items in the menu. Also, it was possible to park for free in a dedicated parking lot just opposite the restaurant.

I would say that the only weak points are the fact that the restaurant is by the main road, so on weekends it can get loud with the noise of motorcycles. Another thing to keep in mind is to thoroughly check the bill as it's all written in Greek, so if they make a mistake and overcharge you for whatever reason, you may fail to notice (it happened to us).

First, I thought that this restaurant is going to be “just” okay for the first night dinner, because it is at the end of the street where our accomodation is and it was quite late already. The exact moment we stepped in we were greeted by a bunch of nice smiling people. We sat down shortly and we ran through the menu. We realized that we must try out most of the foods on the list. The food was amazing. We got a starter for free every time we went there. We became addicted. We felt bad always after eating somewhere else, because we thought that every restaurant over here is like our favorite one in Sidari. We were dead wrong about it. The last night we stayed in Sidari we were late to order anything, but the staff was so nice to give us some olives and bread for their regular custumers. We will never forget the experience. This taverna is amazing. The family are so warm and welcoming and the food is gorgeous 😋. We spent two weeks in Sidari and tried lots of other restaurants but this was by far our favourite place to eat. We ate at Barbecoa four times and it would have been five if there wasn't a power cut! We were a family of four with 2 teenage daughters. Each time we went we were given bread and pork in red wine on the house before our meal. My husband and daughter loved it so much, on our last night they prepared a main course of this dish for them both. This is by far the best and most authentic place we found to eat in Sidari and would highly recommend it. Thank you to the family for feeding us the most delicious food...
