We had a very warm welcome with drinks on arrival from the owner Caroline. She was very helpful during our stay with advice on places to go and eat. She loves children. The room had all you need for a comfortable stay and was clean. The cleaners came in regularly to keep it that way. Breakfast was great. Really good selection of food including fresh fruit, bakery items and cooked items. Bar was really well decorated and had lots to offer. Maria does some amazing cocktails and was always around to help make our stay great. It has a real family feel to the place as a lot of the staff are from Caroline's family. Including her mum who makes some wonderful traditional food that we ate from the a la carte menu and her Dad who does an excellent BBQ. The BBQ was part of an evening with Greek fire dancers and other traditional entertainment. Pool is very clean and a great temperature. Our kids loved it and spent many hours in there. It seems to work well for families as the children get on and play together and it is very safe being away from the main roads. Lots of couples too of different ages were enjoying their stay. Pool table plus chilled soft drinks and ice creams available too. Always plenty of sun beds free with umbrellas or trees for shade plus hammocks. On departure we had the use of a shower room with towels and could leave our luggage in the reception area. If you want to explore the island you'll need a car. A taxi in to Sidari was €8 for 1.5 mile drive. One night we got a taxi into Sidari but couldn't get one back so had to walk on the main road in the dark with no path. Not the best with small children. There are only about 11 taxis in the area we were told. Sidari Beach isn't the best and the water isn't very clear. We hired a car for €50 a day so we could go to amazing places like Kassiopi. So many great places to see and things to do within half an hour but you need to drive there. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the time went too fast. Can't recommend it enough. Thanks to all the hardworking staff who made our...
Read moreWe stayed at Goudelis Apartments with our daughter, son in law and three grandchildren and we all loved it. The apartments had plenty of room with separate bedrooms for the children. The pool was lovely, plenty of room around it and a great bar area looking over the pool. Everything was kept beautifully clean. The staff were lovely and helpful and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere. Amazing breakfast with a very good choice. The hotel is surrounded by greenery. It is slightly outside of the main stretch of Sidari which we liked as it made our stay peaceful. We weren't keen on Sidari itself, a bit Brits abroad, it didn't matter though as we had hired a car and Sidari is very convenient to all the amazing places along the North coast. Very near to Canal D'amour which is worth a visit. The kids enjoyed jumping off the rocks into the sea. We would recommend Kassiopi and Paleokasritsa, although it was very busy there. We loved Old Perithia up in the mountains and had a great meal there. Our favourite bay was Agios Spiridon as it was quiet with clear water and a gently shelving bay, great for snokeling. Also recommend Afionas, which has a stunning bay but quite a walk to get to it down a steep uneven hill. We would definitely say Goudelis is a great place to stay. They have a fun Greek night, good food if you want it in the evenings and great cocktails ! The kids loved the resident dog and cats and all the little bays we discovered. I would definitely hire a car as it made it easy to get around but otherwise there are lots of reasonable organised trips you can book which seemed reasonable. They can be booked in Sidari which is easy to walk to. Think a lot of them pick up...
Read moreI have very mixed feelings about my stay at Goudelis. Lovely welcome from Caroline, as was the send off the day we left. Maria in the bar works extremely hard and is an asset. Yiannis always said good morning and was helpful, whenever asked. Not overly impressed with our superior studio, bed linen, shower or the cleaning of it. Pool and garden area well kept. Just be aware there are ants on the grass by the hedge and lots of wasps. Bar area and breakfast area also very nice. Yes they prefer cash settling your bill, but Caroline pays her staff with this cash. I settled my bill daily. BBQ night was great fun. Unfortunately, where we sat we were served last and the food was luke warm at best. We ate at some fantastic restaurants. Bavias is the closest and is excellent. We ate there 3 times. To Steki Tis Pareas is another fantastic restaurant, but is at the far end of the strip (Canal D'Amour end). Vintage bar at the start of the strip is great for a night of cocktails and music. Cavalieri bar is also good for cocktails and music, especially if the DJ is on (just past To Steki). If you go to the beach the sunbeds at the Calypso bar are the best value at €15, minimum spend, per pair and umbrella. Spend that in the bar and it covers the cost. Would I go to Corfu again ? Probably not. I wish all at Goudelis good luck in the future. To all you returning guests, don't take my negatives as anything other than my personal taste...
