Apartments Korakakis Beach — Hotel in Municipality of Pylos and Nestor

I can't believe the reviews of this hoel having friendly owners...||We were met with sour faces and terse conversation. Asking for any advice was met with total lack of interest. However it was noteable that the owners appeared friendly with the non British guests. I wonder if the hotel knew that Thomas Cook was about to go bust and that they might not get paid. I would feel very sorry for them if so, but feel it was unfair to take it out on us when we did not know about this.||||We found the other staff very friendly - such as the cleaners - always smily and greeting us every day and the rooms were cleaned every day. They had to as our air conditioning unit spilled out black soot every night?!||||No complaints about the small room, lack of sea view or the cleanliness of the towels and sheets, or the breakfast which was the same everyday.We appreciated that the airconditioning was free. It was hilarious that the 'safe' was not attached to anything and could be picked up and carried away!||||Having said this we were determined not to let them ruin our holiday. We met some lovely Greeks and the cafe owners were really friendly. We especially loved 'Lemon Drops' beach bar. When we left we got hugs and kisses and thank yous for being there and keeping their buisness afloat. In these hard times customer service keeps customers!||||The sad thing is we would have gone here again and again if the owners were friendly, its such a lovely village, and location for beaches and visiting local sites, particularly great castles near the sea. A car is recommended, but there is no hire facilities in the village and the bus service is erratic. Just got back from Finikounda and had a lovely holiday at this hotel. Hotel was just what we expected. Basic facilities but perfect position just across the road from the beach. Our room 310 was very small and it was bit of a squeeze manoeuvring around the furniture , however, we had a lovely large balcony which more than made up for the lack of space inside. Good air-conditioning and free safe. Breakfast was as previous reviews, the same everyday, but lovely and fresh , good quality ingredients and we thoroughly enjoyed it. However, it would have been more pleasant if it had been served with a smile :) We hired a car for a couple of days which we had to arrange ourselves. As this resort does not have a Thomas Cook rep, you have to contact them re the "connect service" which in our opinion simply does not work. They did not even advise us of our pick up time of our private taxi transfer we had booked. Re the car hire, we did not get a response from them at all, so after seeing a leaflet on the hotel reception we asked the owner about it and he just said call them yourselves which we did. I booked this hotel on the basis of previous reviews claiming that the owners were hospitable and friendly. However, the proprietors were rude, unfriendly and unapproachable, particularly with Thomas Cook clients. Breakfast was practically thrown at us ever morning. We requested room with a sea view, although there were clearly sea view rooms available these were held back for Greek guests and any one other than Thomas Cook guests. Rooms were basic and small, tap was constantly dripping in bathroom. Cannot understand previous reviews complimenting the owners on their hospitality. Although the owners appeared friendly with some guests. If there is a problem with Thomas Cook and the hotel this needs to be resolved between the owners and the organisation.
