Lisa Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

We ate here in the Hotel Lisa Taverna several times over the week we were staying in Rhodes, due to the good food, excellent service, good value for money and lovely atmosphere.||We tried different dishes every time, none disappointed. All were good value for money. The only slight negative was that the pizzas were pre-made so you couldn't make any adjustments to the toppings. We primarily are the traditional Greek dishes, which were delicious. The pictures in the menu are not always accurate (eg. If you're expecting chips, check to ensure it comes with it). They are very accomodating to requests (except the pizzas); we were even able to add extra vegetables to one of the dishes.||The atmosphere is quiet; you're off the main drag and there is gentle local music playing. Unfortunately, as it's open air, people are allowed to smoke, which for us was rather off putting. We managed to change table so we were upwind and were no longer affected.||Mike was served on duty each night we visited; he is incredibly efficient, very friendly, light-hearted and helpful. We came here with a last minute package deal, so we didn't have high expectations. And indeed, the rooms are in accordance with the price - the shower cabin is too small, and the a/c is a bit weak. ||||However, the outdoor area greatly surpasses the price class, with a top notch pool, a bar and a terrace that made us feel very cozy. The food is also very good, but I think the greatest asset this place has are the people, who were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. This hotel was cheap, booked on booking.com. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the main street and beach, but we had a car. The rooms are basic, but spacious with a good sized balcony. The shower pressure was good, always hot. There was a hairdryer. We paid for air conditioning. The pool is fine. Quiet location. The beds and pillows were hard, but bedding spotlessly clean.
