Siteia is a small and not very touristic city on the northeast of Crete. We like it a lot so we decided to stay a night before we continue with our trip.|We looked for a hotel near the city but a little bit outside in order to have our peace and find a good place to park. The street is good and you can reach the hotel in 5 minutes with any car or vehicle.|There is plenty space to park in front and in the back of the hotel.|We were accepted from the owner of the hotel and her mother. Both very nice to us and very helpful and patient with every question we had.|We got a room, actually it was an Appartment, at the back. Nice and quiet with enough space for our things. No view but not needed in this case.|The decoration is simple but it feels like home. The bed was big and very comfortable. We could finally sleep with open windows as the rollers kept us safe and the room dark. At the windows there is also net for the insects. The bad is new and spacious.|The price was very good and the place was quiet all the time we were there.|If you want to go to Siteia you can walk for 15-20 minutes or take a taxi for 4 Euro. Of course you can get there with the car as well but check your parking options beforehand.||We were very happy...
Read moreNice, little hotel seafront, on the road to Vai Palm Tree Forest, the largest palm forest in Europe. The hotel is located 2km far from the town of Sitia, where you will have a full choice of restaurants for your dining. 500 mt away from the hotel, towards the town of Sitia, you will find a full equipped beach. The hotel has its own parking lot; all the rooms are at the ground floor and you can choose in between seafront rooms and garden view rooms. Seafront rooms might be a bit noisy at daytime but then you are probably wandering around the island; at night, traffic is almost absent and the place is very quiet. The furniture in the rooms is basic but the mattress of your bed is the best you will ever find in your travels. Maintenance isn't at the top: I found a pipe leaking in the bathroom and a lamp hanging loose in the balcony....nothing very serious. Don't miss the breakfast: apricots, peaches, plums, figs seasonly from the garden and also oranges for your fresh juice. Out of season you will taste jams from the same fruits. Staff is very kind and ready to satisfy your needs. Excellent value for your money...
Read moreI can't comment on the quality of the rooms and other things because we never got to stay in the hotel. We had an advance booking and arrived around 4pm. To our surprise, there was no-one around. Nervously at first and then with greater boldness, we called out and searched for signs of life but there were none. This was surprising not only because we would have expected to be able to check in at that time (as our booking confirmation said we could) but also because there appeared to be no security even around the front desk, which had papers left on it. ||||We left and returned an hour later but the result was the same. At this point we gave up and, since I had had difficulty finding a hotel with rooms free when I originally booked, immediately looked for alternative accommodation (which we found). Despite complaining through the website that we used to book, we have not received a refund of our pre-paid...
