Nereids Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Sitia

We visited Nereids Apartments as an international yoga group for a weeklong retreat at the beginning of May.We began looking for a venue for the retreat last August and determined that the Nereids Apartments were an ideal place for practising yoga, with many places to choose from: in the surrounding gardens, in the shadows of the trees, on the verandas, on the beach. It is a very calm place surrounded by a natural garden with palm and olive trees and colorful flowers overlooking the sea.The apartments are 10 meters from their own private beach: a very clean and accommodating sandy beach that is very comfortable for entering the sea. The panoramic seascape will make you feel that you are in a Cretan Paradise. Half of the 8 units are seaview studio apartments with a king-size bed and a pullout couch, suitable for 2 or 3 people. The other 4 units are garden apartments with a separate bedroom with a kingsize bed and a single bed in the living area along with a large couch.There is also a fully-equipped kitchen with a cooker.The apartments are very clean, with a change of towels and bedclothes every day, and are modern and nicely decorated. The town is a seven-minute walk away with a wide range of taverns to choose from with traditional Greek food at convenient prices. You can select from a wide variety of meat and fresh fish dishes. Each apartment is furnished with an air conditioner for both cold and hot air, so there is the possibility for romantic vacations even in March and April when the weather is cooler.The hosts, Argiris and Katherine (who speak English), are very accommodating, hospitable and helpful and will take care of any special needs you may have. We'd like to thank them for making our stay a very pleasant one, and we plan to visit them again in the near future. ...

Interesting set of bungalows built within a condo type environment, almost along the beach road of Sitia. We found our unit roomy enough for an extended stay. Each units comes with a regular sized fridge, coffee maker, electric water heater and varied crockery; however, there is no conventional or microwave oven available, only two cooking plates, that's all.||From within the units, guests can enjoy a pleasant view both to the urban center of Sitia, or onto the hills surrounding the town.||||I can tell that the wifi signal is rather good and that the air conditioning system is also efficient. A parking lot for guests is available within the condo's premises. Another interesting service feature is that guests can freely use the parasols and beach chairs within a specific beach area. Guests can also order drinks or whatever treats they deem of from the beach bar restaurant which is also a part of the Nereids complex.|||| On the other side there are some features which I believe need some improvement: a ) the hot water especially in the early morning shower is a little bit slow and b) I do not want to miss the following fact because I found it worrisome: the bathroom does not provide enough ventilation, and incidentally rules of the house clearly indicate that toilet paper should be disposed of in a small recipient inside the bathroom; in other words should not be thrown inside the toilet. We booked a Sea View Apartment via Expedia, and truly it has turned into an absolute nightmare. Haris, who is the son of the owners, is a liar and does not respect guests in the slightest. He has his own preferred guests and if you are not one of these then you can expect a night of hell, just so he ensures he gets what he wants.||||Our booking (via Expedia) was not honoured. Instead Haris wanted us to pack and move, stay one night in a stuffy garden apartment, then pack and move back. Just so he could accommodate his preferred guests.||||If he wasn’t so unprofessional in his job he would have simply closed out availability on the Expedia Extranet. Then the apartment would not have been available to us and we would have simply booked elsewhere. Please just do this anyway. Do not support this company, they do not deserve it.||||As the sea view apartment was available, we booked it. An Expedia non-cancellable, non-amendable reservation. Haris did not respect this in the slightest. Instead, the night before he expected us to pack and move, he amended the security light so it now shone through the apartment, flicking on and off every few minutes to ensure we got no sleep. My partner is six months pregnant and he still did this. The actions of a truly horrible person. We complained the next day and not once did the mother even consider a discount, despite the actions of her son. Haris even admitted to Yousef at Expedia he set the light this way, literally the only time he has been honest. He has lied constantly throughout, to his mother and to Expedia.
