We cannot speak highly enough about blue horizon. Our flight to Crete was delayed by a few hours and we arrived at blue horizon at 2am. Kostas was waiting to meet us and the warmth of his welcome picked us right up despite being exhausted. He and his wife, Despina, are the best hosts you could wish for. So warm and generous of spirit. Despina took us to Vai beach 24km away on her way to school (she is a teacher) and picked us up later and gave us a guided tour. Honestly amazing hospitality. The place itself is so well thought out and well equipped. You could lay by the pool all day, go to the beach right next to the villa or wander into town 10 mins away. The villas are exceptional and so are the owners. Every suite is fully equipped and modern, with a perfect kitchen, bathroom and fantastic beds! Outside the swimming pool, the marble benches, the sun beds and the barbeque are all constructed with deep respect for the environment. The beach is just across the street. The hosts (Vassilakis family) are very warm and kind and more than just hosts. They helped us with everything and provided every service we needed, fulfilling much more than we expected. What an absolutely super villa!||We stayed in the maisonette which had it’s own private balcony in addition to patio on ground level and roof top.||The grounds and pool area are superb and beautifully maintained.||There are no buildings either side so completely private.||The kitchen has everything you could wish for including Nespresso and filter coffee machines.||All furnishings are high end and tastefully done.||Konstantinos and Despina are fantastic hosts - nothing is too much trouble!| |I highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return.||Easy 10 mins walk into Sitia with it’s lovely...
