MONOLiTHIA — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We were sent here after the Mediterranean Beach Resort was overbooked and gave away a reservation that had been paid for for 6 months. ||Positives: nice manager. The place is clean. There's a kitchen in the room if that's what you're looking for. It's close to the airport. ||Negatives: The hotel is in the middle of a field. There is nothing "seaside" about it. |The reception desk is in a little hut outside. Once there, we never saw the manager again and there was no way to reach anybody if you needed something. (He said we could call his cell but never gave us the number.) The pool is the size of a postage stamp and unheated. There are no services, no food, no restaurant of any sort. There was a soda machine outside that was broken. ||I'm not sure why anyone would give this 5 stars unless you specifically want a kitchen and don't mind a walk to the...

The location of Monolithia is good. The area and the house looks very nice from outside. Market is near by. Close to the beach and also near the airport.||||They lost our reservation (this is probably a lie, because the hotel was closed )||and forgot that we were arriving! We came at 1am in the night at destination with rental car with two small kids. The numbers we called wasnt correct, we sent email and viber, nobody answer back!!||||We searched another room for the night with 24/7 reception! The next day in the morning in local supermarket owner helped us to find host family contact. We were transferred in other family hotel in Kamari where the let us in and where we stayed for our holiday. We thank them a lot!||||From Monolithia still now apologize or any answer. Monolithia is a nice little resort close to the beach, but not really on the beach. Rooms are on the small side but are immaculately cleaned every day, with clean sheets, towels, etc. The lovely cleaning lady even did our dishes. ||||There is al small pool with sun chairs, but apart from that there is not much more 'entertainment'. Which also means it is really nice and quite at night, apart from the occasional airplane landing or taking of. Monolithia is really close to the airport, but the planes didn't bother us much.
