Hotel Golden Sun — Hotel in Patmos Municipality

This was one of our favorite hotels on our 6 week vacation. Adrianna the manager is one of the kindest people I've ever met. My mom was sick from the ferry, i was meggasing with Adrianna to see if my mom could go straight to the room to lay down while i checked in. Not only did she allow this, she took my mom to the room and got her a glass of water while i was bringing in luggage. Every day she was smiling, helpful and such a joy to talk to. The other lady that helped with morning breakfast (i'm sorry i didnt get her name) was such a beaitiful soul as well. She taught my mom to pray in greek orthodox and was a pleaseure to have conversation with every morning. The poor man that worked there (sorry, also didnt get his name) had to carry all our luggage up and down 57 stairs. 4 suitcases all around 50 pounds each. Thank you so much to all the kind people at this hotel! I would 1000% recommend this hotel to anyone! If you choose another hotel on Patmos, you are missing out! The best hotel experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was super kind friendly and they welcomed us in the most beautiful way. The breakfast was incredible and the cook Evangelia was the nicest person I’ve ever met! I suggest the name of the hotel should be Evangelia because the whole experience of the hotel wouldn’t be the same without her. She was chatting with us every morning giving us the best tips for the island and she has the warmest and kindest heart! She even made homemade cheese pie and loukoumades. Absolutely tasty! I will definitely come again in Patmos and especially in that hotel. Amazing location, a fantastic view and they took care of us like we were their family. I will keep those memories forever.

you want to to stay in a old banged up room with a mere white repainting over the bathroom tiles? you want to chase after the mother of the "new management" for keeping the poor quality and minimal selection breakfast buffet halfway refilled? do you want to walk up and down the hill to a mediocre and small beach (petra beach is further away but bad as well)? do you want to be told that you need to submit a credit card for a security guarantee upon arrival even though you have prepayed the whole stay and there is no minibar in the room ? do you want to be informed about fines to be paid on every possible thing like a towel missing or a lost key?
