Okay so this hotel is off the beaten track; but don't be fooled into thinking what have I done? ?. This place is great if you have some inside information. Firstly get to know the staff Miltos, Stratos, Nickos and Irini will make you feel right at home! !Then unpack and explore!||Depending on the length of your stay depends on how much you want to cram in to one day but this is what we did on a 3 night stay:||Number 1 holiday tip! know how to cross a busy road safely as if you leave the hotel this is a major factor! ! Once across the road head straight for the seafront. A 5/10 min walk and take in the aray of fruit trees in people's gardens en route. ||The beach goes on forever and is a mix of sand and shale. Take a right and walk up to the old windmill. Keep on going for another 15 mins and you will come to Pasir; an open air bar with a club like summer vibe with music, loungers and that all round holiday feeling. Not up for the walk then go no further than the Mikiverna and eat and drink in style on the shore facing balcony. A hidden gem.||Another day saw us booking the boat trip at reception to mount Athos leaving from Ormos Panagias. At €45 this trip is well worth the money and is a full day out. Don't forget your swim wear and a towel as you get 2 hrs on an amazing beach thrown in! ||Looking for a change on an evening? ?||Ring Aris!!!||Go to Gerakini for cocktails at Karibu! And then try out the local tavernas for food ~€8 each way in a taxi.||or||Go to Nea Moudania.. in fact this is a must! €15 each way for the taxi but it is worth it! Beautiful marina front lined with eateries and bars/coffee stops. Gust is a must!||||I hope you enjoy Kalives as much as we dI'd. . just don't pet the cat.. else you will have a follower and serial lap jumper! ! ||Last picture is for Irini and Nickos... a new cocktail for your menu "Lady Marmalade" mix 1 part mandarin stoupakis with 4 parts tonic water. serve over crushed ice with a slice. I hope you like it! !||||Thanks for the much needed 3 nights away from the...

Read moreIf your idea of a good holiday is peace and quiet, good beach and friendly, dedicated staff in a nice surrounding, this may be a perfect place. The hotel is more than one would expect from 3 star: clean, spotless rooms with balconies, fine and plenty of food, Mediteranian, Greek but other choices, too, freshly made on the premises, in the hotel's kitchen, variety of fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and sea food, even a lovely birthday cake a family ordered and generously shared with us all!Garden is well mentained with apple trees, olives and roses, swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas with enough shades. But the best of all is the dedicated, kind and helpful staff that would do absolutely everything possible to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. The only disadvantege may be location, for families with children, as if you like the beach (lovely, sandy, blue flag, showers but no toilet, to my knowledge) you need to cross a rather busy road at rush hour. Everything else is perfect and in my opinion reasonably priced. So, you may see me again, Kalives Resort! P.s. there is plenty to do/visit but you need public transport (not bad at all) or a car, to see some of interesting surroundings, from Thessaliniki (second largest city) to other near by towns, villages, mountains,...
