Our experience at this traditional Greek taverna was honestly really lovely. It’s tucked away on a quiet side alley, which made it feel like a peaceful little escape from the busier parts of town. It was perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
The place was super clean, and the kitchen was kind of semi-open. You couldn’t walk into the actual kitchen, but you could see into the prep area a bit, and everything looked spotless. The decor had that classic Greek taverna vibe. It was simple, cozy, and welcoming. Nothing fancy or upscale, but it felt authentic and charming.
The staff were all very kind and attentive. There was this one older lady who really stood out. She was so sweet and made us feel right at home. She spoke enough English that we didn’t have any trouble communicating, and overall the service was surprisingly fast. Food and drinks started coming out even before we had finished ordering, and they somehow managed to get everything right despite our group being 15 to 19 people.
One of the nicest touches was the free bread and water they brought out right when we sat down. And at the end of the meal, we always got some desserts or fresh fruit on the house. Little things like that really make a difference and show how much they care.
The food itself was fantastic. Traditional Greek dishes, super flavorful, rustic, and really satisfying. The kind of food you just want to dig into with your hands and not worry about utensils. The fried shrimp was especially great. Juicy and full of flavor. The fried zucchini was also spot on, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Honestly, everything we ordered turned out to be really good.
Even with such a big group, they had no problem finding us seats all together and sorting out the orders. They even split the check by family with no mix-ups at all, which is rare and honestly pretty impressive. It showed they really cared about making things easy for the customer.
The prices were more than fair. Most dishes were between €5 and €15, depending on what you got. For the quality of the food and service, it felt like great value.
There was some quiet background music playing too, just enough to add to the relaxed atmosphere without being distracting.
Overall, it is the kind of place I would go back to in a heartbeat whenever I get the chance. Definitely a hidden gem. Great food, warm service, and just a really enjoyable experience. Perfect spot for families, groups, or anyone looking to enjoy some proper Greek food...
Read moreThe price is way expensive for what it gives. We have ordered 2 chicken souflaki and 1 gyros. We were asked a pretty weird question and that is if we want fries with souflaki? You would normally say yes because you usually get fries with souflaki by default, but here you have to pay the fries individually and they give you bread without anything on it (olive oil/tomato) and add it on the note without you asking for it. My gyros plate came out close to frozen so I told the waiter that my plate was extremely cold so they bringed me another plate with another portion (that was okish). Fries portion on plates are small so the balance between fries and meat is really bad. Having a plate full of meat is just wrong. At the end they asked us nicely if we would like some melon (we were thinking that they’re gonna give us some melon from the house side) and we said yes but guess what everything was noted on a handmade note that we couldn’t understand written in greek. That lead to confusion, as the note was 8-9€ more than what we expected. Completely not worth the price for food. The staff moved fast but the...
Read moreDisappointing food, but friendly service by one of the staff who’s well versed in English – others made a distant impression. Decorations in the restaurant were in traditional Greek style and looked nice.
We ordered kebab (which, unlike the name suggests, was in fact braised beef), eggplant with minced meat, feta cheese with honey and sesame seeds, stuffed vine leaves and tzatziki.
First the kebab, this dish wasn’t very aesthetically plated. Which reflected the taste very well: also unpleasant. The beef was very dry and quite tough, that couldn’t be compensated by the sauce. Fries were served on the side, but those were way undercooked.
The eggplant with minced meat tasted ok, but was a bit oily. On the side we had the vine leaves, feta and tzatziki, which were both ok as well.
We got a free dessert to share, probably because we mentioned our disliking of the food. This wasn’t explained and just served to us, a nice...
