This is a boutique hotel run by a local family.||The hotel's service was attentive, friendly and helpful. I was impressed by the professionalism of the pool' staff. The made a free alcohol cocktail for my kid which was exactly his taste. The music was appreciable, not too quiet, neither too loud. |The pool was great, descent size and clean. The food was also delicious and there was always someone to assist you. We truly experienced a great vacation. ||Positive vibes with stunning view over the castle & monastery, this hotel was well located with few minutes walk to Chora, the main island city. ||The island itself is very picturesque and offering a wide variety. From horse riding to exploring virgin bays such as Agalipa. Further to this, this island is as well offering you a Cycladic flavour on the southern side and a nice flora on the Nordic side. ||Last note, as I am a world traveller, expert in luxury resort, this beautiful hotel does not really represent a global 4 star hotel. The rooms were too basic, although very comfortable beds and clean. They were tights and the bathroom deco was a bite outdated. They needed to be renovated as well as to fix the shower door. ||I FRANKLY give a 5 star cause the general atmosphere, staff assistance and smile. I was very pleased to spend my holiday there and I am thanking Dimitri, the general manager, for his greatest...
Read moreWe had to stay in this place for one night only because of a last min change in our departure (the hotel we already stayed in had no more availability). They charged us 130€ for a DELUXE room which was: not properly clean had a slight smell of cygarette smoke was NOT a deluxe as advertised in the web site: this rooms could be more compared to a studio and definitely worth no more than 70-80€/night no safebox absolutely noisy (bad isolation as you could hear others breathing LOL)
In general, the website could be compared to photoshop on a lady. You see a gorgeous model picture with photoshop applied, then you see the reality...how SAD!
The only thing which was really good was the breakfast: fresh genuine products prepared by a skirian lady. Really good food.
PS. A funny note is to make regarding the room welcome/info booklet, just to make you understand how far from class and style the owners of this place are...The welcome message looked like a Shakespeare's poem but really did not have anything to do with the environment and the booklet itself made using a dossier/document folder with transparent sheets LOL.
Also...buddy if you charge 130€ for this thing, then Ammos hotel should charge 200-220 for the same category of room, while they charge the same. Lower your prices,...
Read moreOverall a good experience. Everything as advertised, comfortable rooms and good service. The location is great, less than 10 minutes by foot from skyros “χώρα” and less than 5 minutes by car from “magazia” beach.
Some little issues however:
Breakfast: some more local products such as one of the many cheeses would be appreciated. Furthermore, breakfast starts at 7:30 but not all dishes are ready, the frittata and “tiganites” were usually ready around 8. Same goes for the pie.
Restaurant: we had one meal per day included in our reservation. The daily specials were pretty good and light. The problem is with the monotony of the daily specials, they didn’t change much… we stayed 9 days, didn’t find any legumes (lentils/chickpeas) or any fish or seafood.
-Wi-Fi : wifi was good around the pool area and near the reception but just awful at our room (n 600), often completely losing connection.
PS: special thanks to Marialena, even if it was her first year working here (and in the hotel business) she was very helpful and always in the best of moods....
