Ilio Mare Beach Hotel - Thassos — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

As a first this hotel isn't luxury. I've been in meny 5 star hotels in Greece, Turkey and Egypt. I booked superior room in this facility, my wish was not to be on ground floor because these rooms don't have enough privacy and during the night you have to close window for security. On the reception they told me that my room is in fact junior sweet, very luxury and comfortable. Actulaly, "superior" was only by size, furniture was very outdated, and most important bed very big but old with specific smell of old furniture ( later we experienced that is also uncomfortable ). Closet very big bur without enough shelves. Window you can't lock in any position than fully locked. A lot of mosquitos, so you have to keep mosquitos net closed. One day we had special guest - little mous. Bathroom was functional, also outdated, for sure not luxury. Food on dinner not so big choice, repetitive, sea food almost nothing regarded we are on the sea ! Breakfast also small choice and every day the same. Lakily there is fine restaurant nearby, Batis, with very good selection of all kind of food. Beach was good with one half difficult to go into water because of pebbles, enough beds. Beds, umbrelas and towel for free, quiet place with discrete music. I rarely use pool if beach is OK. This pool was nice, big enough with comfortable beds, but not so meny beds regardles of size of hotel. The best thing in this hotel is staff. Very kind and polite, always on service, most of them spiking English, discrete, but allways there for you. Cleaning ladys are doing their job spotleslly. Beach guys are fantastic, discrete, they are comming only if you call, and keep beach very clean. Sunset on this beach was one of the best ever so pairs often organise wedding ceremonies in that time. So from the first moment me and my wife told ourselves " This is a 4 star vacation" and from that point we enjoyed becouse we have positive mindset ( there are no "special days" , you have to celebrate every single day on Earth ). To management...your facility need serious renovation of rooms...restoran is beautifull with fantastic view, but selection of food not so good...especialy sea food and cook for daily special meal was not skilled. The location was fantastic. Personnel were kind and helpful, cleaning ladies doing great job as they changed towels and bed sheets every day. Breakfast generally good.||Dinner was very bad. Every day the same quality food fried in bad quality oils and fats, not an option for anyone with high cholesterol. No roast meat option or fish, never. Cats with unknown health status were wandering the restaurant and management was not doing anything to stop it. On the contrary, they were putting responsibility on clients as they had placed papers everywhere asking visitors not to feed cats. Water could not be seen during dinner, in this way they were trying to sell their drinks and water, which were expensive. In my presence a hotel lady during the breakfast scolded a young girl because she filled her flask with water. First time I visit a 5-star hotel with no option to prepare a coffee/tea. No tablecloths on the tables, and no AC working during the dinner. Instead of AC they opened all doors and windows allowing easy access to cats. Because of this bad quality of dinner, most of the days we to visit restaurants in the area for dinner, the times we chose to have dinner in the hotel we had to do sauna as AC not working.|The pool was small size (1,20 max) and always dirty, photos in website totally misleading, burnt grass in the pool, broken tiles in the common toilets, poorly maintained hotel that needs urgent refurbishment. No good water pressure in rooms, and no hot water for everyone. Τhe top highlight of my visit, was during checkout when the hotel manager approached us, and even though we told him that we were totally unsatisfied, as we had to pay monies in restaurants when we paid a half board option, he asked us to give his hotel a score of 9 in booking.com. I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during my recent vacation, and I had truly an unforgettable experience. Every detail of the hotel, their hospitality, and quality impressed me greatly.

First and foremost, the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to meet my needs, and I always felt their presence and support throughout my stay. Whenever I had any questions or requests, I received prompt responses, and they were always ready to assist in any situation.

The hotel rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious. I have no complaints about cleanliness; the rooms were tidied up every day, and everything I needed was provided. The bed was very comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep.

Moreover, my children were also very comfortable and happy at the hotel. The staff took great care of them and provided activities and entertainment suitable for their age group. The hotel's child-friendly facilities and services made their stay enjoyable and memorable.

The highlight of our experience was the beautiful and clean beach and sea. The hotel's location provided easy access to a stunning shoreline. The beach was well-maintained, with crystal-clear waters and soft sand. We spent delightful hours swimming, sunbathing, and building sandcastles. Also the pool and pool bar was great.

The meals I had at the hotel's restaurant were truly exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and diverse dishes prepared by the chef. Salad with crab or american burger was very delicious. Additionally, the hotel's bar had a relaxing atmosphere, and I was able to taste some fantastic cocktails , ouzo there.

The location of the hotel was also excellent. Moreover, the proximity to several shops, restaurants and tavernaki was very convenient.

In conclusion, I was extremely satisfied with my stay at this hotel, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. With the hospitality of the staff, comfortable rooms, delicious food, excellent location, and the added joy for my children, including the beautiful and clean beach, it provides an unforgettable...
