Sylvia — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

I chose this hotel based on good reviews. I do not know who writes these reviews, but everything was wrong from the very beginning. We got a super small room, it seemed small even for one person and we were two adults. We could barely move inside. There was no storage space, so we had to put our lugagges in the middle of the room on the floor and we could hardly walk. ||The bathroom was old, tiny, without a window and proper light. The cleaning service was not so good either. They did not change towels, although we put them on the floor.||||The worst thing was the dinner. Do not expect Greed food. You will get frozen processed food or canned vegetables. In 7 days the food was edible only once - chicken and rice. Any other time we were going to a nearby restaurant. One of the reasons I go to Greece is the awesome Greek food! 1. Rooms - small, but clean - we were not disappointed. Except for the fridge that seem not to be working properly (very weak chill). Room service was OK (we are not very tidy guest to be honest) :)||||2) Food - if you think you will get a taste of some local cuisine, think again. Very low-cost dinners, usually store-bought and reheated or fried. Think baked potatoes, canned peas and carrot. Vegetarian option = more potatoes, peas and carrot. Breakfast buffet was pretty usual. Good coffee.||||3) Staff - usually friendly, understanding, smiling. One time we asked for the dinner an hour earlier (cause we went for a wedding ceremony) and was told it is not possible. Sylvia hotel means a lot to us, small and cosy, looked after with love and care which all genuine guests should have very much appreciated. The home feel and welcoming atmosphere is simple amazing! Care form the owners and their staff should be appreciated by all guests. ||For all those “disappointed” travellers, check before travel, obviously if you all can read and see… This is a small lovely hotel, if you require a silver spoon services, you should stay elsewhere, well this may not be the case as your low very low budget won’t allow you to so. Stop sharing your own bitterness and get a life! We can only recommend this hotel to everyone who seeks unique atmosphere, very quiet and lovely hotel to have amazingly relaxing stay...
